Which gun rest for testing loads

Sling up and hold hard!

Yeah, I know, in a minority of one, but I like the way I shoot, and it works just fine.

All the best, Guy

The older Weatherby Owners manuals had a specific caution against using a "fixed" bench rest for firing and a warranty disclaimer for any resulting damage.

Looks like "death in the tall grass". The "green Machine" looks like all business from that angle. CL

I've been running a Caldwell "Rock" tripod with leather bags and a leather rabbit ear rear bag.
I also have the same rest Fotis posted above but use the Caldwell rest most often.

The smallest groups I've ever shot were with this setup. Worked for thousands of rounds of 223, 308, and my 7RM... The bipod prevents cant from affecting group size, and this is the setup I use in the field.

I use a Vortex water bubble level for cant.

I did not know what that was. I looked it up on the net. That is cool. Something an engineer would think of. :p :p :p
