Benchmark or Varget

I need some powder for my .223 AR with a 16" barrel. I have 55 gr Varmageddon bullets, FC brass, and CCI primers.

I would also try the new powder in my 22-250, 6.5 Grendel, and 204 if I get one this spring.

Either one can work in your AR. Varget is perhaps the more universally recognized.

Benchmark meters way better then Varget and Tac is even better. H335 is a good powder also.
I use Varget in my heavy 68gr match loads and its a great powder for that

Why just those two?

I get awesome results in 16" AR rifles with IMR XBR8208

Doesn't meter the best in the world but it sure isn't the worst either. Accuracy is very good especially in the 16" bbl AR's. 60-63 grains bullets/xbr8208 powder/cci #41 primers...good shooting right there

If it was just for .223, I'd go with Benchmark. Otherwise...I guess I would go to Varget.

I have had great accuracy from Benchmark and Varget in my 223s. Benchmark had the edge with speed.
