Hello all. I am looking to get a new revolver and wanted to know everyones experience between the BFR, ruger Redhawk, and the taurus raging bull. I was thinking of the 454 casull. thanks

Welcome to the forum.

Take a look at the S&W 460 Magnum. It is very versatile shooting 460Magnum, 454 Casull and 45 Long Colt.

I think you ment Ruger Super Redhawk. That is the one I have and I like it. I also have a Ruger Redhawk in 44mag which I like very much. With max loads the 454 can be a handfull to shoot accurately.

Sorry i meant super redhawk. i have looked at the 460 and really liked it just didn't like the price. I liked it because of the ability to shoot all 3 calibers.

I know what you mean, the S&W is pricey. Look at it this way, its like having 3 revolvers in one.

is the s&w better than the magnum research bfr? i have looked at both but have no idea of the quality and barrel life of each.

Check out the Super Blackhawk's. Very easy to shoot and they are rugged firearms! Plus, you can buy two of them compared to a BFR! Scotty

The 454 can be quite a handfull with full power loads. If you reload you can download them. If not you can shoot the 45colt ammo in the ruger also.
If you consider the 44mag you might want to look at the Redhawk and not the super redhawk. I have a 44mag redhawk and really like it(my favorite pistol) but the super redhawk in 44mag is also good. I owned a Super Blackhawk and liked it but prefer the DA Redhawk(or SRH) for the swing-out cylinder and being able to use speedloaders. It is faster to remove ammo/brass from also.

I really like my dads 44 mag Super Blackhawk with the 10.5 barrel  That long barrel make it easy to reach out and touch stuff. And the Blackhawk seems to recoils less than the Super Redhawk since it rolls up in your hand rather than the back into you like the Redhawk (IMO).
