Who has experience with the 204 Ruger on predators?

I know this is about a year old post...did any of you find a better bullet to use on coyotes yet? I would like to try the 40 gr Berger if it will stablilize in my 527 Varmint. The 35 Berger works really good with tiny entrance hole and no exits so far.

The 45gr Hornady bullet has been my best so far. It will exit most times, but with a real small exit wound. It has penetrated yotes and killed them even with hard quartering shots. Not the best BC or speed, but real effective.

mcseal2,
Have you tried the 40 Berger bthp? I see it has .225 bc compared to .176 of the 35 fbhp that may make a little difference at 300+ yards. Last night, I picked up a box of each and a pound of H4895 to see what my gun shoots the best. I would have bought some 40 ballistic tips also, but the store only had 32 Varmagedons. There is plenty of Varget and BLC2 powder on my shelf to try also.

I honestly haven't taken time to load for it yet. I got several boxes of the Hornady 45gr factory loads as a gift and it shot them well enough I have kept using them. I have 40gr Berger, BT, V-max, and 39gr Sierra's to try as well as 4 powders. I just need enough free time and calm winds to try them. It will likely be late December before I get serious about it, I'll be shooting the big game rifles until then.
