Who's chambering the Nosler 26?

A while back I heard that a few companies would be announcing at SHOT Show week that they would be chambering the new Nosler 26. Has anyone heard who will be?

I can't think of a better hunting rifle than the Nosler Rifle... It's a sure thing for the Nosler 26.

I think other companies will pick it up, haven't heard for sure about any of them though.

I'm leery of new calibers and any new caliber will need a plethora of manufacturers to chamber the round if it is to be a commercial success.
I'm in hopes that it is a success but please don't hold it against me if I have my doubts. Heck I just learned that Texas DPS is shelving the 357 Sig which I thought had a real chance but seems to be going the way of the 10mm. That will make it a niche round and not an everyday round sadly.

I really like the new Nosler round...by the numbers anyway...It is about as souped up as a 6.5 mm can get, any more case capacity would be to the point of diminishing returns.

I've always thought about how nice it would be to have such a round...the 260 Rem is OK, but for me it was just not enough of a good thing.

The only problem I can see is barrel life...but, barrels are perishable items...sad fact.

I'll probably never own a 26 Nosler...but I'd really like to.

I just wish I could afford one. But with a one year old son and a stay at home wife it's not in the cards right now....

I have 270 WSM which for me is too close to justify the $$. If I was starting from scratch then........

It will probably be a neat round. I wonder why they just didn't neck down the 270 WSM to a 6.5 and call it a Nosler?? Does the case for the new 26 have more capacity than the short mag case??

A lot more capacity...its capacity is 93 grains if I remember right.

It’s been a week now since the SHOT Show and I haven’t read or heard anything on who’s going to chamber it other than Nosler. Anyone hear anything?

Nosler is in a bit of a pinch with their new .264 chambering. If it is only offered in Nosler rifles, sales will not be too high and actually may be quite low. The Nosler rifles are not cheap. I am sure they are good rifles, but they are not in the league of your starter rifle.

If Nosler allows other companies, such as Remington, Winchester, ect. to chamber their hot new .264 then their royalties from those sales would enhance the profits for the 26 Nosler. I can easily see Nosler doing that. Nosler is the one who has taken all the costs on this. Might as well let royalties make it profitable.

I think it would be pretty silly for Nosler not to let others chamber it. If they are the only company to offer it in a factory rifle it may as well be classified as a wildcat cartridge. It will never make it unless someone else picks it up. My guess is that we won’t see it in a Remington or Winchester. If anyone.... Savage, Sako, Tikka, Browning(Maybe), HS.

I saw a Nemo Arms Omen chambered in the 26 Nosler. That would be the ultimate platform for tactical long range shooting.

To my knowledge, we are currently the only manufacturer offering rifles for sale in the 26 Nosler. However, the cartridge is fully approved and SAAMI standardized, and is free to any manufacturer who would like to chamber it. As CMBTshooter mentioned, Nemo Arms will be offering the 26 in their Omen rifle, and we had one in our booth at SHOT show--talk about a mean AR!!

Of course it is up to other manufacturers whether they will want to offer it in their standard cartridge lineups, but there is nothing prohibiting any of them from doing so. So if you want to see the 26 in one of your favorite rifle makers offerings, give them a call and cast your vote! "Squeaky wheel gets the grease."

Hope that helps with any of the questions!

I voted for Savage on the Nosler link when it was officially released, they are most likely to offer a LH version and make a great firearm. Tikka and Sako would be nice too.

Since it's out there anyone can chamber- reamers are out there and 6.5 barrel blanks are out there… in fact any company with an '06 length action and a magnum bolt face is most of the way there. And that's all of them pretty much.

Will they? Too early to tell but I'm intrigued at the thought.

I think it would make a perfect sheep cartridge and for caribou it would be be in it's element as it would mule deer and antelope. I am kinda worried about close range bullet performance making a big mess out of edible parts of a critter. I recently sold off a number of rifles…I might redirect some funds into one of these.
