I bought a pound the other day and hoping to find out where it shines. I've used it in the 17 Remington but I haven't tried it with anything else.

I used a lot of it in an 06, so I am assuming anything of that case size would be appropriate. If you find something that likes it really well, let me know I have several pounds of it.

I've been sitting on an 8 pounder for a while now. Works well in 308 too

I use it extensively in both the 338 Federal and the 358 Winchester. It has long been a standard in the '06.

Good to hear. I'll be trying in '06 based cartridges and 308 just to see how well it does. Thanks for the info guys.

I heart 4895

I believe John Barsness said it is also just as good for reduced loads as H4895.

It's not THE BEST in anything I load, but it will work in everything if/when push comes to shove. I have an 8-pounder of the H-flavor held in reserve.

Well said.

46 grs IMR 4895 under a 125 Nosler Ballistic Tip used in a 308 Win. is AWESOME for deer. It shoots bug holes out of my rifle and just SMOKES deer out to 300 yards so far. BANG FLOP. IMR 4895 is what the M2 ball ammo for the M1 Garand 30-06 was loaded with for the military. I have a few 8 pounders IMR 4895 from pulled down military M2 ball ammo. It shoots same velocities and accuracy as new IMR 4895.

I got a pound of it with some loading supplies I bought from my uncle. Finally used it this summer in my 308 with both Sierra and Nosler 125 gr bullets. Liked it so well I bought a couple more pounds the next time I ran across it. Consistently shot right at or under .5" groups, which is twice as good as I was hoping for in my stock hunting rifles.

I use the H version for the 30:30. I would think the IMR version would be just as good.

I use it in my daughters Rem 700 .260 with Sierra 120gr PH's. It shoots very well in her rifle.

I have used it in the 375 H&H in the past now I use it in my 204 Ruger & in 3 different 223s.

Blessings,
Dan
