Why ???? Nosler Patriot 7mm08

Beautiful rifles deserve beautiful mounts!

Does not get much nicer than the Near Manufacturing Alpha Hunter Ring Mount as it comes with a 10MOA cant, Truly a work of a fine machinist !

Got it heading my way, along with Leupold dual dovetail bases, Burris Signature rings, VX3 3.5-10x40 CDS. Already have a supply of Fed 210, Fed 215M (use with Big Game), Varget, Big Game, 120 BT's, 140 AB's and partitions, 150 BT's......let the waiting begin.

Cool. All those components should add up to a GREAT hunting rifle, fit to use hard and pass on to subsequent generations of hunters!

Congrats.

I was surprised how effective that little 120 bt is. I have a buddy in the TX Panhandle that has some MLD ground, and needed to cull some does. I think I tallied 17 does that weekend, all with a 7-08 and 120's. We gave the meat to Hunter's for the Hungry and they were almost as thrilled as we were. Yes, those 120's are deadly deer bullets, and hogs for that matter.

I like TALLEYS - one piece rings-bases - lap them in and mount up your scope ! I have a Leo VX3 3.5-10 CDS on my 240 Bee - its a great scope but NOT enough power for how far it will shoot ! LOL :) RJ

Rem Jim, I have lapped Talley LW's on an HCR 7mag and really like them as well. Leupy DD's are rock solid as well, and as you probably know, the Burris Sig rings have an insert that will square that scope up perfectly, without need to lap. I will respectfully disagree on the 3.5-10x not having enough power. I can shoot targets no problem with a 6x42 FX3 out to 500 yards. The 3.5-10x CDS on another rifle easily gets me to 700yds which is far enough for me.

Got the rifle in house, put together, now I'm very anxious to see if I can duplicate those targets referred to earlier. If it shoots as good as it looks and handles I'm in business!

Got her on paper, then fiddled around with some charges, seating depths, etc. After fiddling around with it for the past few days, it's seemed to settle into this range of charges. The details:
140 AccuBond
2.800 COAL
Nosler brass
Big Game
Fed 215M primers (experience in other 7-08's with Big Game showed that more often
than not, mag primers with this ball powder seemed to tighten things
up rather nicely.)

Those are a couple of fine groups. You're about set. It will take down about everything in NA.

If you can keep three in nice little triangles like that, you will have no problems killing game!

Very nice.... a 140AB is a great bullet and the rifle evidently likes them a lot.

Very cool combination.
