Winchester 70 LT in 25-06 ...anyone?

I saw it buddy! I am resisting anything more till I find a smith for the 338-375 Ruger build.

Mine is not an LT variant, but it is one of the South Carolina rifles and it is looking like a very consistent sub-MOA 5-shot rifle with 75-grain V-Maxes. I have three more groups to fire and should be finalizing my load next trip to the range. I am sold on the new Model 70 Classics!

Do you not have a 338 already?

Better than anything Big Green has put out lately-----accuracy wise that is.

I have an older classic sporter in 25-06 and its the most consistenly accurate rifle I've ever owned, factory tube and all. Owns my smallest 3 shot group to date still at .043"

Its always been a 1/2 moa rifle pretty easy with lots of bullets/powders. Not fussy at all.

I sold it to a friend bout 5 years ago, needed the money but made a deal if he ever sold it, give me first chance. Well bout 6 months ago he was looking to get rid of her and I knew I had to have her back.
Also have one in a 7 RM and its showing some really good potential with 162 amaxs and retumbo out of the get go.

Pretty nice rifles all way around.

Jorey I do remember your winnie 25-06!

I'm not to sure myself...

I will say my 7 RM is a bit different then the 25-06 and there suppose to be same rifle/model, classic sporter. The difference is that the engraving on the 7 RM is in gold (caliber designation), and the crown is different, also has a lot darker piece of wood, which means nothing really but the other 2 things kinda make me raise a brow every now and then.

I'm not sure if it came from factory like that or if the guy had the gold engraving done after, or if he did the crown work after. I'm thinking not since he only shot it 10 rounds and was more of a collector instead of a hunter. He had 4 of these win model 70s in 7 RM alone, which is how I ended up with one of them. With a leupold vx2, 3-9, leupold rings/bases for $600.

Was a steal for that price considering the rifle alone is worth that.

Suppose to be more svelte in the stock configuration. Not much diff though. I owned a dozen of each.

I'm 0-2 on Remington's being 100% right outta the box. So I don't think there will be another anytime soon!
