Anyone have any experience with this new "old" brand. I've got a yearning for a black rifle and these are well priced. I understand they're made in the old Bushmaster factory by experienced Bushmaster ex-employees.

I just visited their website and it looks like a good product with a great warrenty. I recently purchased a black rifle from Rock River for similar money to what these are costing. It had an initial range session last Friday with some cheap 52 grain hollow points that I picked up when I purchased the rifle. To say I was impressed would be an understatement .

Mine is a flat-top that I threw a 3X9 Burris scope that was gathering dust in the safe, while I wait for a red dot scope to get here. Without even trying, this rifle was shooting under MOA after about 10 shots! The trigger needs to be replaced, but this rifle really shoots. Woodycreek suggested these rifles to me and I am not disappointed. They do a lot of rifles for the military, so they must have a pretty good product.

What was scary to me was how quickly I remembered how to field strip the rifle for cleaning after almost 40 years   .

Those Rock Rivers are awesome!! Mine shoots 1/4 inch with factory and the handloads I give it, all with a 4X ACOG, I haven't tried to push it nor will I. I figure it's in the stable to shuck lead so that's good enough for me.

Yeah, I imagine they are more interesting if they are not a work tool.

Wow, they let you have Evil Black Rifles in Canuckistan?

Kurt,

It is tough to get them, but yes, they are allowed, even into Canada (provided you have a restricted PAL (Possession and Acquisition Licence)).

I have some of the "Old Bushmasters" before Remington took over the company. Great rifles for how they shoot and what I paid for them. The new Bushmaster rifles are a little over priced for ARs. Windham should be good to go if they make them like they used to. It's hard to beat Rock River ARs for the money and what you get.

Without a doubt my LAR-15 shoots .5" groups with factory or my thrown together HL and my brothers LAR-8 is shooting 1" outta the box with HL without any work what so ever need to work on it just haven't had the time. Especially for the price they are tough to beat with a 1 MOA guarentee with factory rounds. I paid $850 for the 15. It's an awesome little rifle.
