My wife is a decent shot with rifle, pistol or shotgun. She's not a true enthusiast, but does like to go shooting with me now and again.
A few nights ago we headed to the range together in the cool of the evening. She was going to shoot my .22 Marlin 39A. She really likes that rifle. So do I!
I asked her (again) if she'd like to shoot the AR-15... The muzzle blast & military appearance have always kept her from trying it.
I told her "almost no kick." She's not real trustful ever since I slipped that 170 gr max load .357 into her revolver, instead of a .38 wad-cutter, almost 30 years ago. Man was that a mistake!
She eyeballs the evil black rifle and asked "No kick?"
Well, almost no kick. I held it out like a pistol and put a few rounds into the target, one-handed.
Hmmm. "Okay." So, she tries it. And likes it. Now I may need to buy another AR-15! Yikes!
