My wife is a decent shot with rifle, pistol or shotgun. She's not a true enthusiast, but does like to go shooting with me now and again.

A few nights ago we headed to the range together in the cool of the evening. She was going to shoot my .22 Marlin 39A. She really likes that rifle. So do I!

I asked her (again) if she'd like to shoot the AR-15... The muzzle blast & military appearance have always kept her from trying it.

I told her "almost no kick." She's not real trustful ever since I slipped that 170 gr max load .357 into her revolver, instead of a .38 wad-cutter, almost 30 years ago. Man was that a mistake!

She eyeballs the evil black rifle and asked "No kick?"

Well, almost no kick. I held it out like a pistol and put a few rounds into the target, one-handed.

Hmmm. "Okay." So, she tries it. And likes it. Now I may need to buy another AR-15! Yikes!

NICE! Way to go Mrs. Miner. That's not a bad thing she like it. Hope she shoots the tar outta yours till you can find a replacement! Ha!

Great result, Guy. Your missus may really enjoy that sweet little AR. Hmmmm. Buying ammo for two of them may mean you will work some time longer.

Nice work!

I put a brake on My STW this spring. My wife was ringing 12" gongs out to 800 yards with it. She now refers to it as her STW.

Gotta love it when the ladies get involved. Even if it does cost a guy a rifle.

I love it when my wife comes to the range with me. What I don't love is that she's a tiny right handed lady that knows how to work the collapsable stock, and that I'm a giant that shoots lefty with the semi autos so when I'm not paying attention I end up wondering why the shell deflector is in my cheek.

If I didn't live in California I'd have already built another one with a fixed stock so I don't have to deal with this problem.

I put a collapsable on my AR to make it easier for my daughters to shot.
Last weekend my 12 year old put 10 out of 10 in a 6"x10" rock at 200 yards from the sitting position.

Excellent suggestion and great results, AS. That is the way it should be done.

...gee, sounds like you gentlemen need to tell yer womenfolk, "Get a shotgun"...
