I would think that there isn't a lot out there that wouldn't succumb quickly to a 150 gr BT, or a 150 gr NP, or 150 gr AB going 2900-3000 fps or a little over.

Same can be said of a 7mm 160 (280 Rem) at the same speed or a 140 out of a 6.5 (6.5x55/6.5-06/6.5x284)..... In my opinion they are all about the same thing, just a couple different headstamps..

Anything in that arena is a good cartridge in my opinion and you have to jump up a bit in bullet diameter to really best any of them.
That's what I'm coming to realize as well

Would like to see Reloader 16, 23 and 26 powders in the next Nosler Reloading Guide with the 270 Winchester.

I'd be happy to see them in stores!

Looks very good! Tough to beat the 150g NBT at 2950fps from a 270. I think in going to try some in my 280 eventually with 162 AMAXs since RL26 is non existent in my area. I can still find RL22/23 all day. RL22 is good, but lot to lot and temp stability just isnt what I want.

Oh man, if you can get 23, buy it. If you don’t like it I’ll send my buddy who’s near you to pick it up. Took me awhile to come around but it has been EXCELLENT stuff for me.

I just picked up a pound of Reloader 23 before Thanksgiving. I have tried it in the 7 mag already and have some loaded for 270. I got good speeds with moderate charge weights in the 7 mag. I am excited to see how it will push 150 grain pills in the 270.

It’s done real well in my Tikka with 150 AccuBond, Partitions, Berger’s and Ballsitic Tips. Mine ran about 2980 across the board, give or take and that isn’t anything to sneeze at in a 22” 270 Win.

Yeah my goal is to the 150 gr bullets (I have Speer Hot-Cors right now) to go 2950, possibly higher, in the 270. I have an older (better lol) Remington 700 with a 22 inch barrel like your Tikka.

I think you’ll get there. Mine is very consistent as well. 23 is a very forgiving powder in my experience which ain’t enough, but is getting better.

I came across RL23 totally by chance. I had heard that a local pawn shop had some primers in stock so I went to get some and ended up finding powder there too.

First attempt with RL23 in the 270, sub moa and 2840 fps. No pressure signs at all. Moving up in charge and seeing what happens.

That’s a good spot to be!

Here is the target. 4 shot measured 0.929 and 3 shot measure 0.652. Pretty pleased with RL 23 so far. I knew I pulled the fourth shot, just wanted it to be in the same hole too badly, lol!! IMG_2384.jpg

That's very nice. Like I was saying, I sat on 8lbs of 23 for quite a few years and then on a whim I decided to try it and man, it is good stuff. Doesn't hurt my feelings its pretty temp stable as well.

It took me awhile to try it since I got into 26 so heavy but figured I better try something else so I didn't burn through it all.
