That is truly a collector's piece. Very nice catch for someone. It would be great if someone on this forum were able to pick it up.
 
I've owned a bunch of 6mm Navys... they just all happened to be necked down to .22cal... believe you've got one right now too Pop...

The Marines surely kicked butt and took names in the Spanish American war (especially Cuba) with the 6mm Lee Rifles. One Cuban Division called one Battalian of Marines at Cuzco, "10,000 marines" with Lee Rifles. Maybe they should take another more serious look and the 6mm for the AR platform. It would strike harder, shoot flatter and penetrate better.

Nice one Gene! Almost forgot about them doing duty there! Almost makes me wanna own a 243 of my own, it is a little bit of heritage!

6.8 SPC is currently limited special issue for undisclosed units. I agree, the 6mm would be a good compromise between weight of ammo, fa controllability and LR striking power.

I've only ever seen one of those Lee Navy rifles at a museum. Very cool rifle, way ahead of it's time. It did have some technical issues though I've heard.
