Since Montana is going to raise the price of a nonresident deer tag next year to $500.00 or so, I've decided to put in for a Wyoming unit 156 deer tag. This is going to be for a backcountry mule deer hunt.Anyone know anything about the area besides it's loaded with a healthy number of grizzly bears?

If you're going DIY, I'm wondering why 156, or how you chose it. 152 comes to mind, but it's getting hit pretty hard these days. There are some pockets in it I like a lot. Wolves are more of a factor in 156, also.

I wanted to hunt the Gro Vente wilderness but a nonresident has to hire a guide and I wanted to get into a area where I could hike into and get away from everyone else? I haven't ruled out putting in for a Elk tag for that area instead.I've made a few call to the fish & game dept and spoke to a ranger and wildlife biologist about the area and spoke to a couple of people at the Bridger Teton natl forest and a have been looking at satellite photo's and topo maps of the area online and haven't been told anything real bad about the area?
