So, I'm getting ready to head north for a couple of days of coyote hunting on a ranch in central WY... I was looking all over the house for a couple of things... then I went out to the truck. This was the contents of the backseat (haven't been coyote hunting in a couple of weeks mind you):

IMAG0066.jpg

Leupold 6x32 Yosemites
Leica LR1200
2 Custom open-reed coyote calls (one goose call not pictured)
1 box - .243 Win. 70 NBT loads
1 box - .357 Mag. 125 SJHP loads
3 baseball caps, all camo (one Seattle Mariners... Go M's!)
1 Carhart stocking cap
1 pair Danner hiking shoes
1 Fleece jacket, Nat Gear
1 Fleece jacket, brown
1 Fleece vest, camo (yeah, so I painted it...)
1 pair Rivers West waterproof pants
1 bandana, camo
1 Sweatshirt, Tan
1 pair Carhart overalls, duck
1 pair Sweatpants, (for under the overalls of course!)

Could outfit half the county out of the backseat of a Dodge Dakota... no wonder I couldn't find anything in the basement. Is this condition terminal?

I'd say it's just like a good Boy Scout! Always prepared! You just never know when you might be heading some place minding your own @#$%@ business when the opportunity just presents itself. Better to have it even if you don't need it, then to need it and to not have it!

I need to get my darn tax stuff all ready to take down and have done, but I sure want to get out tomorrow myself to see if I can see some wolf tracks and do some calling. We had some more fresh snow again finally!

I did not notice any snowshoes in their songdog!

Good luck out there Songdog.

I don't doubt that there are a lot of us with more gear than we could imagine under the rear seat and on the rear seat and even on the passenger seat. I don't have room for passengers because of gear!

Ya got it covered, and all within reach.

That would actually make my backseat look clean....I could probably live out of my truck for a month! With the addition of kids and losing my man/cave gear room, it has apparently migrated to it's way to my truck. On a plus note, a car seat works well at holding sensitive optics and the like when driving down bumpy roads!

haha very similar to my back seat, 1 set of rocky winter camo, leica 1200rf, nikon binos, 2 ruffy dog open reed calls , 1 yellerdog open reed howler call, 1 fox-pro fury, 1 vangard 243 (in soft case/with trigger lock.) I love livin out in the country, if I lived in town there is no way I would leave that much equipment in my truck at least 3 g's worth. I forgot the nikon camera also.

I gave my F-150 a good clean out last fall and found a Magellan GPS that a sport had lost 2 years ago! He thought it fell out of his pocket out grouse hunting but it was under the passenger seat all that time. Still worked fine so he was really happy to get that call that we found it. However he had already replaced it :(

I have a little Honda Civic and almost always have a duffel stuffed w/ similar stuff, along w/ my calling implements & rifle... JUST IN CASE!

Way to be... I'm jealous at your location, though. Tough hunting in the east...

You are ready, nothing wrong with that. I believe you have more in your truck than I have in my closet?

I guess I know I'm a coyote hunter when I only got a shot at one since the start of 2012, the rest see my feedtruck or UTV and are GONE! Good to have them thinned down now though, we are starting to calve and more will be moving in.
