Your "Keeper" rifle?

This a good question, I am just getting to know my RMR in the 35 Whelen she has a Leica on top.
This rifle has loads of potential but right today I would still have to take my CDL in the 270 win
my CDL has a Leupold VX-6 on top as well.

Blessings,
Dan

Guy Miner, Good choice as your main hunting rifle. I also have a Remington CDL in 30/06 that I really like it. Other than the trigger being stiff it's perfect. My main hunting rifle's is a Sako 7mm-08, Ruger No.1 300 H&H. and a Ruger M-77 stainless steel with a boat paddle stock in .270 Winchester. At first the boat paddle stock really bugged me,but I have to say it's as tuff as nails.

Here are my two custom rifles. The rifle on the left has killed probably 60-70 deer and one pronghorn. It is my "special deer rifle". Nearly all have deer shot been one shot kills at ranges from 20 yards to 425 yards. This particular rifle started life as a 1949 Winchester Model 70 Super Grade .270 Win and still has the Stamped floorplate. It has a French (Bastogne) walnut , hand carved stock on it made by Charles Bantchni at London Guns. The rifle was custom made for me in 1973. It is scoped presently with a 3.5-10x50 Kahles scope.

Charlie, those are real classy and if I owned them I might start shooting right handed  (NOT).
They sure look like they have been well cared for.

Blessings,
Dan

Dan, they have been well used and need to be refurbished a bit now. I just have not gotten around to it but will in good time and pretty soon. Winter is here.
Blessings,
Charlie

My go to big game rifle that I'll never part ways with is my M70 7mm Rem Mag SS BOSS with grey laminated Boyds stock that is bedded and free floated. It shoots 160 Partitions like they have eyes and will work for all big game that I'll encounter except for a few in Africa and Alaska. The 4-16 4200 gets swapped over to the 22-250 for predators after big game seasons are over in mid December.

Its my Mod 700 Classic in .35 Whelen AI. My 200gr Barnes ( both the older X and the newer TTSX) outshine many 338 WM factory loads, and the 250X killed like a standard 375 H&H up close on Wildebeast/Zebra/Kudu. I even got the big Woodleigh 310 sn going 2424fps out of it with varmint rifle accuracy. I also would have to ad the Belgium BAR in 270 I bought after my dad died, back in 2001. It shoots like a very good bolt gun, and I had some commerotive engraving done to it. I like them all, but there two will stay. Now, I have a little Ruger Alaskan in 375 Ruger coming that just may earn a spot, ha.

Welcome aboard buddy! Great to see you here!

I thought I knew what my keeper would've been till my wife went and got me this 338 Win Mag!

I am not sure i will hunt with much else for awhile. If you would have asked me a couple months ago it would have been my 270WSM or my 35 Whelen. With the new Pre64 338, the 35 Whelen is on shaky ground.

Definitely my custom .300 Win. Mag. That rifle has more sentimental value to me than any monetary value could buy.
