Youtube grizzly clips.

I always enjoy the clips on YouTube. I do spend some time there looking at the grizzly clips. Did you put in for a draw this spring, Gerry?

There are some good clips out there for sure. That was a pretty nice bear the guy shot in the last one. I did apply for spring Grizz this year for an area close to home where we can hunt the tide flats on the coast and also check out some clearcuts and slides. Have always wanted to do a hunt on the coast there are some very big bears there. My second choice spot was a good area north of here where you spot and stalk the bears on slides. How about you?

First choice was locally; second was the Burnt drainage where I've hunted for the past couple of times. I'm seeing lots of wolves, so whether or not I get drawn for grizzly, I plan to spend some time in the drainage looking for spring wolves. Thee were so many grizzlies a year ago, that even the black bear were deserting that particular drainage.

Would love to get out and bag a wolf this year as well. I know what you mean about blackies deserting certain areas, the guy I used to guide for said the grizzlies were multiplying so much in his area that it was getting harder to find blackies in some of his "go too" spots. He has since sold of his guiding rights to other guys.

My last trip up the Sukunka, I counted something like five or so blackies in country where I used to count up to twenty plus in a day. However, I did see grizzlies and grizzly sign in every drainage, and wolves were in every valley. The black bear just don't like run ins with these critters.

I guess those selfish black bears don't like to be eaten  Spring bear just can't come fast enough this year.

Amen! Looking forward to the opportunity. As mild as it has been, there may be a very rapid emptying of the dens this year.

I have a wonderful wife so it's bears for me  I already have a youtube account 8)

Yes. Agree. Keep wife happy. Really good survival tactic!

Gerry - thanks for posting those grizzly videos. The one with the two big brownies fighting on the beach looks like it could have been taken right where I go for my salmon fly-fish trip every few years in Alaska - we see a lot of bears there, right on the beach where the stream empties into the ocean. Lots of seals, eagles, gulls and bears, all lured by the salmon in that river.

When the bears get nasty like that, I avoid them entirely. Matter of fact, fly rod in hand, I simply avoid the bears anyway!

Use a heavier tippet, Guy, if you intend on taking one of those bears.

I strongly suggest you be specific with your wife when you say a blonde color phase that you are referring to a bear.
