That was an excellent harvest representing a variety of plains game. Those are some beautiful animals, and each is a trophy in its own way. Congratulations on a successful hunt replete with rich memories.

Very nice! Beautiful animals!

Where and who did you hunt with?

Susan and I are going in May.

I'll be using archery and the 338-06 w/ 210 PT's and Susan the 7mm-08 w/ 140 AB's.
The spiral horns for me and sable and springbok for Susan.

I sent you a reply, hoping you got it.

You and your wife will have an excellent time-and probably take more animals than you have planned on!

We plan on returning-but I'm retired and if I get a pizza delivery job in the evenings, and deliver newspapers in the mornings we can go in about ten years!!

Good Luck

Just returned earlier this month from plains game safari in South Africa. Awesome trip. Perhaps the best part is that my wife went and had a super time. Having her "invested" in the trip helps with overall success and now planning for a return trip. I had five animals on permit, successfully took all five with single shots using reloaded 180 Gr Nosler Partitions. Performed perfectly from a .300 Win Mag. Placement is everything, but even more confidence with the performance of the partitions.

That is a great report! If you get a chance, please do post some pictures of your hunt.

Wow! Some amazing animals there. I have to admit I think the kudu and the sable are the two most beautiful plains game there are. I’m glad you had a wonderful trip, even though I’m very jealous lol.

The spiral horn antelope are simply stunning. Great representative kudu.

I couldn't get the warthog photo to load and took a while to add the Kudu photo. Also, took a Blesbok, Impala and Duiker. Awesome trip and looking forward to returning. Now, I need to reset my brain for whitetails in Virginia.

I hear that! You did well in Africa, however. Again, congratulations.

It's funny what will trigger my desire to go to Africa.

I thought that I'd put that behind me and wanted to do most of my "big" hunts in Alaska and Canada. Loved the whole Alaskan hunt experience last spring.

But... When I see those great African hunting photos... sigh... Ya, I'd like to do that. And honestly, a plains game hunt is really quite reasonably priced.

Love all the Pics, my favorite animal is the Hippotragus Niger AKA Sable!

Yah.... The Old Dagga Boys. One day I will go back there for two of those.... not that I need two, just to savor the moment a second time, and since they taste that good!
