Gents,
I've been using the 140 AB with 48.0 gr of RL15 in a NULA m20 and have enjoyed 3 shot groups from .4 to 1.0. Ive not chrono'd the load so the velocity is unknown at this point.
I decided to use this load due to a comprehensive write up on this cartridge/rifle combination I read a few years ago and this powder/bullet combination showed promise.
After reading some posts I see that RL17 is or may be the top dog for this bullet and cartridge?
Question #1---What are you guys using for Powder with this bullet ?
- RL15 at 48.0 is ok - some vertical stringing occurs
- should I ladder load up ?
Question #2---I have necked up LAPUA 6.5 x .284 for my brass, good stuff ! but I get run out in the .004 -.008 range in 30% of my loaded rounds .... I dont neck turn and dont want to. Is this normal ?
My dies are Forrester and are good/excellent quality, I neck size.
I know the rifle is capable of more consistent performance - what do you suggest for tweaking ?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
