A bit ignorant on loads over "100 percent load ratio" so playing the Devil's Advocate here to learn a bit if I may.

Is it even POSSIBLE to get some of these in the case, especially maintaining a 3.071" OAL?

I didn't check the length of a Sierra 160 SBTHP but (of my interest) the Nosler 160gr PT is 1.27" in length (according to online info. None in hand yet). That said IIRC the Sierra BTHP is longer yet.

The 160gr PT loaded to 3.25" OAL in a 2.30" trim length case gives ample seating depth of .32". Even if loaded to neck bottom the OAL would be 3.14 ( 3.136 rounded up).

So a little curious how data would compare to the above with load ratios kept to say.......102% or whatever percentage is NOT compressed and a longer OAL. I cannot imagine wanting to seat either of these bullets down to SAAMI length.

For the record, the throat in my 700 Remington Classic is quite long. I've no worries of hitting the lands with bullets mentioned.

Of the data above, IMHO RL-17 would still be my pick considering the load ratios shown. I'd love to see if that holds for a longer OAL and (IMO) more readily filled load percentage ratios.

With stick type propellants, you can fill the case to ~114%. This will be a compressed load, having excluded some of the empty space between the kernels. Ball powders, because there is less space between the individual kernels, will compress far less.
 
I’d kinda like to give 26 a go in my buys 7mm Mauser. 2800 with a 160 might be pretty danged wicked.

I'm in agreement. While not "needed" it does entice me, but RL-17 does as well (2799) without going considerably over fill percentage.

Wondering what the fill percentage of RL-26 would be with a longer OAL to compare is all.

Going from 17 to 26 didnt look like much of a gain, at least not enough IMO to make me rush out and buy RL-26.

I've done a little with Re17 and the 150 gr. Nosler with interesting results. I've been wondering if I might work as well with a 160 gr. bullet and this looks like it will. Time to hike my sorry rear end to the loading bench.

17 works amazing in the 7x57 fellas. I’ve ran 140 Accubonds, 150 Partitions, 150 Ballistic Tips and 160 Partitions.

2950 with 140’s
2890-2900 with 150’s
2800-2850 with 160’s

It is good!
