Any plans for a new rifle in 2025?

You are going to love the 257 Bob. The 115 BT is wicked on WT deer.

And since Guy has the name "Cyclone" tied up for the 115 gr BT in his 25-06, I'll have to call the finalized 115 gr BT load "Twister" when I git'r done in the Bob! 😎

Forgot to ask what your favourite load was for the 115 gr BT in your 257 Roberts?
Gil,
With the help of Scotty and QL, my Remington 700 Classic (long/Magnum action) in using 49.0 grs of RL22 for 3100 fps. My COAL is 2.90" and case life has been very good.
That's pretty impressive performance for the 257 Roberts, and because of the longer overall length.
Start low and work up.

Thanks, will do!

DrMike helped me sort out my QuickLoad issues today...think Norton and Windows 11 were messing with it after the update! Thanks again Mike! Greatly appreciated! 😁

Looks like Re-17 might be a winner in this rifle w/ 22" barrel with the 115 gr BT...up to 64,000 psi, I should be able to work up to a max of 45.2 gr for approx. 3,085 fps. We'll see how it does ! (Luckily I have 5 lbs of this powder on hand!)😎
45.1 gr of H-414 should be good for 3,041 fps...I have 5 lbs of this on hand too!
Nice to have options!

Back in Dec, on a cow elk hunt, I had a tough time holding a very light rifle still, but got it done. I sold it, and went back to "Sporter weight" rifles. I also had a current shoulder problem, so thought, "no more hard recoiling calibers. I found a sweet Mod 700 Classic in 30.06 in Montana from an old boy and I bought a new B14 Hunter in 7mm Rem Mag. I always wanted to try the Gentry "Quiet Brake", so had them installed on both ( plus bedding, new Trigger Tech triggers and a Limbsaver on the '06) by February I had progressed in physical therapy and was told I could not injure it any further, so I wanted another thumper! I found a pristine Mod 700 Classic in 338 Win mag, had a Leupold 3.5x10 and 9 boxes of its preferred handload, 225 Hornadys. All in virgin or 1x fired brass. He had dies and extra cases too! I got it all for a very, very fair price. (Old man retiring from hunting) It was already bedded, Decelerator pad with a old brake. I had my smith put his 3 port brake on instead. He is adjusting the length of pull to my preferred 13 5/8s as the guy was a giant, had spacer installed and had a super long LOP! ha I plan on doing most of my practicing with lighter loads in the '06 ( although I immediately got busy and found my elk load recipe with 200 NPT/N560, 2650fps) I used 150 Sierras for zero. I gathered up some RS Grand to try in my 7 mag. I also have some 160/175 NPTs and 131gr Hammers for it. I also want to shoot the lighter Hammers in the 338, got some 190 HHTs to start. I have all kinds of bullet weight/styles of 338s on hand! I'm happy. :)

Gil, that is one classic rifle! I hope its not to pretty to hunt with!??? That would look awful good laying next to a nice antelope or Mule deer! CL

Got it. Made it to the range with the 6.5x55. Did a seating depth test with 43gns of staball 6.5. Some pictures of the gun and targets.

Very handsome piece. I do love the look of attractive wood paired with a finely blued action and barrel. It does show promise in the accuracy department.
