Hello,
New here and just wanted to see if anyone has ever purchased Nosler brass in this kind of condition. I wouldn't even be posting this if this brass wasn't their premium product. I had to size and trim to minimum case length all the rest, 46 to be exact. They ranged from 1.902 to 1.918, the average I would say 1.909.

I have another box coming next week and hope the problem isn't in this next batch. Ok I'm gonna stop complaining and just bringing this to peoples attention.

Thanks

I would suggest reaching out directly with the photos. All of the 22-250 brass I have ever purchased from Nosler was de-burred and ready to go out of the box. I still use my chamfer tool on the insides of the neck of the casing. This is not normal. It appears that a step was skipped before they boxed them up. Keep us posted on what comes of it.

I have used Nosler brass since they brought it out and never experienced anything like this...but I haven't bought any new brass from them in a few years (just ammo) as I have a decent supply to keep me going at this time. I have been happy with the brass to date. I have recently ordered some of their new 25 Creedmoor brass to try in my 250AI and am waiting on it.
I too recommend contacting them with the photos to see how their customer service will take care of this issue for you, and post the results here.

Hello,
Well I contacted nosler and they said they had no idea why those would be like they were those cases. They also are sending me some good cases and I feel it takes care of it. Just wish I knew what or why they were in that box and that brass was not premium brass.

Oh well live and learn

I used to use nothing but Nosler brass only I bought their blemished bullets and brass except for their .45 JHP 185 gr bullets that I used in pistol matches.
Nosler had some growing pains several years ago and bought out a company to handle product distribution for SPS.
QC seemed to go downhill for a while till they weeded out the undesirables. Every now and then things still slip through QC since the demand is still high, but they try to make it right when you call them.
My high-volume rifle shooting has slowed down and I have found other interest so what I stock piled years ago will last me for a while.

Glad you made contact with Nosler and got the issue resolved. Nosler isn't perfect, nobody is, but they are making it right with you.
I along with many others, have had great success with Nosler brass.

The last box of Nosler brass I got was all over the place with a .020 spread

Some were .008 below trim to length...
Some were .012
(yes twelve thousandths) over case length max.

I got more consistency from Winchester and Remington brass than Nosler.
Norma, Lapua...???
Fuhgetaboutit

P.s.

It was 300wsm

Just curious, how long ago was that?

Welcome to the forum, the only Nosler brass I use is 223 Remington and it’s been really good.

Hello again,

Well the Nosler brass worked ok but I didn't really give it a fair shake. I only loaded 5 rounds and that day I was testing bullet depth. My 22-250 has a long way to the lands and I set three loads from 2.520 to 2.560; the 2.560 is .030 off the lands and .070 is the best shooting for my rifle.

I had cleaned my rifle before I went shooting and I also fired 6 fouler rounds thinking it would be enough, I'm thinking I was wrong. Before I shot the rounds with the Nosler brass I had fired 6 fouler and 5 of my 2.560 depth rounds and then went to the Nosler.

First 2 shots were low middle and low to the right. Next 3 almost same hole. Then I went to my 2.550 depth and it was better but not what I was looking for. Then the 2.520 depth and 4 in a tight all rounds touching. Then the famous 5th hot barrel flyer shot. But the group is still covered with a dime.

I'm thinking if I had more of the Nosler rounds loaded up the grouping would have been inline with the Win cases. Not sure but I'll have to give them another test to be fair to the brass and company.

My Win cases are just about done, loaded them a number of times and I'm getting split cases once in a while. Time for new brass and I was hoping the Nosler brass would fill the bill. One can only hope.

Thanks

Powder Valley has 22/250 Winchester brass at $60/100

Annealing your brass would extended your case neck life plus a consistent neck tension.
