So after doing a lot of reading which I probably shouldn't have done lol
Sounds like the AccuBond is kinda like a bonded Partition with a tip ?

Either way im torn between the Partition and AccuBond...

Our whitetail deer here average about
100-120lbs...

I want to make high shoulder or base of neck shots to drop them right there .

Do I need to worry much about getting good expansion with these shot placements?

Longest shot is 165 yards

So if yall dont mind
Help me decide !

Either one will work. Whichever your gun shoots better. The AccuBond would have higher BC but probably not much of a consideration unless shooting past 400 yards.

I've killed deer and elk with both. I think the partitions held together a bit better but didn't have any issues with either.

I should have added that we only have a max shot of 165 yards here on the one long narrow shooting lane .
Most common shots are 90-100 yards

I was thinking the AccuBond cause its tip wouldn't deform as much . But at Short ranges it probably wouldn't matter much. I just wasn't sure if the AccuBond would expand much at all on smaller game size like our deer here

Outside of the monolithic and bonded bullets there will be issues when hitting any of the heavier bone structure.

Standard cup and core bullets simply can't stand the stress against bigger bones when pushed really fast, however, slow that bullet down some and it'll perform substantially better.

I can see that .. but I want to push through the neck or shoulder and DRT. If thay run and get in the river there gone

Soo, all you are really wanting to do is disrupt the central nervous system. Pass through is not really needed for this.

I’ve shot big bears, little bears, caribou, moose, Roosevelt and Rocky Mountain elk, mule, blacktail and whitetail deer, one Big Horn and antelope with 150gr or 180 grain partitions out of an 06. My dad would add 8 grizzlies a number of moose and a bunch of sheep as well as elk and deer.
I shot quite a few deer with ballistic tips, 150gr out of an 06. Mostly high shoulder or spine shots. Not as dramatic as you might think.
I’ve shot 20 or so elk with 250 gr. Accubonds having started using them in my 338 when they came out. Almost every one was high shoulder and a great many of them I got both shoulders in the process. I’ve taken elk from 30 yards to 501 with Accubonds recovered one bullet, both shoulders at 500. I took 10 African antelope, including Eland and also a zebra with a 300 wm and 180 partitions. The zebra was close, maybe 50 yards. Most of the animals at around 200 the Kudu was right at 500. All were DRT. I like the AccuBond more. That was 4 years ago.
Recently took another 10 in Africa 180 accubonds out of a 300 H&H. All but two from Mountain Reedbuck to a Giant Waterbok were DRT. The 8 DRT were high shoulder shots. The Gemsbok went down hard with a high shot but was up and running. He fell to the second. A big Hartebest quartering away I hit too far back at about 300. He popped out again at 400 and the finisher was academic. The 180 AccuBond at 2950 punched through liver, some gut and into the lungs. When he stopped at 400 he was probably about to fall over. Reed buck and Impala are pretty small the amount of damage to the shoulders was surprisingly small.
Not sure I’ll ever hunt with anything but accubonds, except this next trip to Africa. My PH is pretty adamant I use Swift A frames out of the 375.
You’d be hard pressed to find a better all around bullet for hunting 6 yards to 600.

Just looked at some more of your comments. I’ve never had a big mule deer go anywhere but just about straight down with a shoulder shots and 150 gr. Ballistic tips. Deer are my exception to accubonds. Ballistic tips are perfect for deer.

Yes, sir. Ive killed several truck loads of deer with BT's and a few hogs. Never an issue!
