Bullet vote please

I shot one last year with a sierra gameking btsp 150gr at about 90 yards in the base of neck. It just locked up and fell over . I Didn't find the bullet. It was somewhere in the base of neck .As it didn't go through, I should have looked for it. No exit makes me think it just opens fast and dumps energy right then causing massive shock .. from what i understand the AccuBond, and regular green tip ballistic tip does just that
In other words, it worked well.
And it produced a quick, clean kill.

You didn't include them, but don't overlook the Hornady SST and Sierra TGK. I had fine results with the 129gr SST last fall from my 6.5 CM. And they are very accurate (.3") in my rifle.

Oddly enough two of my custom rifles didn't like the Hornady bullets as much as they did the Sierra really weird

I’ve a friend heading up to Fairbanks for some sort of family thing, his wife’s cousins ex wife’s cousins wedding or something like that. As a kid I caught all kinds of Grayling out near the fort, is it still good up there? I told him he needs to go exploring.
I live just South of Fairbanks in North Pole but yes Grayling are still in the Chena River. Grew up in NC shooting Deer and Black Bear with 30/06 and 308 Win both using 150gr Speer Hot Core and IMR 4895.

since guys are giving opinions on other bullets , here's mine . I've killed more whitetails with the Hornady interlock sp bt bullets , than all other combined . I hunted Kansas with a group of guys , a few shot 300 REM Ultra mags and 165 gr ballistic tips over H1000 powder . for whitetails , or medium size game in general , you really don't need a premium bullet . bullets of a more frangible construction could give much better on game results .you can get a bullet with too much integrity that just does not perform the way you expect . keep in mind too , the 308 is not a speed demon .

back to the AccuBond / Partition choice , in my experience I've seen quicker kills with the Partition . the Partition front acts like a regular old school bullet . this puts us back to the too much integrity issue .

One thing to keep in mind that I forgot to note in my earlier post about Ballistic Tips. I regretted using a 140 Ballistic Tip in my 7 STW on a impala hunt back in the 90's, the bullet was screaming around 3,450 fps if I could remember out of a 28 inch barrel. Hit him quartered away, bullet blew up when it hit mid rib with the intention to travel into the lungs, but made a huge shallow wound, it was found a mile away an hour later. I never used a Ballistic Tip in that screamer again except tougher bullets like the Partition or AccuBond. It would have done better if it was broadside instead of quartered away.

Looks like you have lots of replies. I’ll just say that I MIGHT have some ACCUBONDS that could be had cheap for the cause but won’t know until I get home from Zimbabwe on 9/1. Please message me so I don’t forget to look and I’ll let you know what I have.

Between the two of us he has the ability to try both on the cheap versus the Nosler crazy price. I like them, but dang. My ELD-X shoot lights out and don't let whitetail walk off.
