Awesome thank you. I don’t have a horse in the race and whilst I am confident in what I shoot, there is always the doubt in the back of my mind as to whether I could be doing it better. Thank you again, very much appreciated and thanks for posting the pics too.

Can you talk through your experiences with the terminal results of each bullet and what speeds you were running them at? I often tinker with the idea of going to a mono metal projectile but haven’t as yet. I’d be genuinely interested in your thoughts.

223 would be the most common I would suspect. On a big buck roo, you would want to head or neck shoot them as their sternum is very hard and some have very well developed shoulders. Having said that, you wouldn’t need anything more than a 243 or the like.

Not many rats have a pouch and three babies on the go at once all at different stages of development. It is part of the reason so they are so prolific. Can’t walk backwards either. They are a truly unique mammal.

…and shooting a kangaroo is about as challenging as shooting a target on the range. No real trophy value attached to a kangaroo.

You’d be right. It is one of those meats that seems to be a bit polarising. Some like it, some eat it once and never again. Highly regarded for heart health. Like most game, better on the rarer side than well done.

I have a couple of feral horses to knock over this weekend. Will see if we can find them. They have been running through fences and giving his riding horses hell.

They reckon there are more kangaroos here in Australia now than before settlement as a result of the increased pastures and greater amount of water.

Thought I would share this with you guys just for something a little different. I am off hunting this weekend and just wanted to make the 300wm was sighted in. 180grain nosler ballic tips were doing very nicely. It was the entry to the range that put a smile on my face.

Love it, can never start them too young 😉
