Some pics from what a camping and hunting trip in my part of Australia looks like. I hunt private property and would have seen probably 40-50 red deer in three days. Biggest was 10 point red stag and called in an 8 pointer to within 40 yards before the wind changed and he trotted off. Also...
Wishing you all a very happy and relaxed Easter with your family and loved ones.
Writing this from the bush with another successful hunt. Roared up a very pretty 8 point red this morning to within 40 yards.
Wonderful way to start the day.
Have a great day all.
I look forward to seeing the 130TGK's. I have some for load development in my son's 6.5-06. I have no experience with this bullet at all...yet ;-)
The 129sst has proven fine for Red Deer out of my son's 6.5x55 and whilst it is only circa 2,700fps at the muzzle, it seems to penetrate and kill...
A couple for the pot from the weekend. The rifle shot was from a 260rem at 190 yards with the 120nbt, match made in heaven. Straight into a rising sun, one of the more difficult shots I have made because it was blinding. The archery fallow was the darndest thing. I stalked up on three of them...
Hi Chuck, we don’t get Bison here in Australia, was wondering what it tastes like. Also what did you shoot that beauty with. They look like they have some size. Beautiful condition too.
We have been more than satisfied with Benchmade knives. They have held their edge better than any other knives we have used in the past. I will however say because of that, they do take a bit longer to sharpen. Don’t think I will need to buy another knife, completely satisfied.
I’ll take quail as an entree and fallow as my main. Spuds cooked in duck fat with a side of broccolini and a good red wine. Be purring like a kitten after that.
Well Cole you were absolutely bang on. A 25 RPM just dropped. Looking through Weatherby’s site it seems a modern day 257 Weatherby magnum in performance but with a rifle that will hold 5 rounds. I am sure the internet will be a buzz about not needing a new cartridge. 😉
If I couldn’t get my 30-06 to shoot, the 6.5 RPM was going to be its replacement barrel. I think it is one of the best cartridges introduced in recent times, I just wished brass wasn’t so expensive. You certainly have that rifle dialled and glad to hear the gen 2 Leupold is a good thing.
