Didn’t think I’d Actually Win It

You go girl! Gil needs to surrender his claim to that rifle, Susan.

Trying really hard to sit on my hands.

A solid rifle that can be a real sleeper. The price seems to be great from where I'm sitting.

What joy did the shooter receive in doing this?

Witnessed a man shoot an endangered mountain caribou. He insisted it was a large deer. In his case, it was poor training in game identification compounded by the fact that he was awakened from a sound afternoon sleep and the beast standing only a matter of feet from him watching what to the...

    New Here

Thanks for the reminder. You've been through the wringer. Sounds as if you managed to come out mostly whole on the other side. Good to have you aboard.

    live primers

Some would recommend soaking the cases in oil. I haven't found that to be necessary. I use a decapping die lowered firmly but gently sufficient to punch out the primer. I do advise wearing safety goggles, avoiding bending over the case. You can always pull the trigger on a case in you...

160 grain AB or 175 Grain Partition

Either bullet will accomplish your goal. I have used both from a 7mm RM to take elk, moose, and lesser game. Your 38 Nosler will serve as a serious platform for the launch of either bullet.

    New Here

I empathise, brother. The foolishness of our youth does have a way of catching up to us. The many years of wading glacial streams wearing blue denim waders has contributed to the present condition I am enjoying. 😕

    New Here

I can certainly emphasise about back injuries. My back was broken in three places when I and a truck took turns jumping on one another, The truck got the last jump. I managed for a good number of years, but in the last two years the old injury has begun catching up to me. At the range this...

Didn’t think I’d Actually Win It

Just give it time. There'll be rifles looking for those bullets. And there is a strange magnetic attraction between dies and rifles you haven't purchased yet.

    Spring is Here

Here in northern BC, we say we have nine months of winter and three months of hard sledding. It has, however, been a mild winter this year. it is a delightful spring at the moment. (Hopefully, I didn't jinx our weather by making that comment.) I even managed to vote in the advance poll for...

    .280 Rem. Mountain Rifle

Welcome aboard. Your 280 will serve you well for about any game you will hunt in NA. BlkRam was spot on in the advice he gave. You can find data for 175 grain pills, but the 160 will serve you very well. I reviewed my data logs on three 280s I've owned and shot, and found I have never loaded...
