Interesting. I've had one of three different 280s for thirty years. Two were Winchester Model 70, and one was a Remington Model 700. Each of these rifles has always worked to ensure there was venison on our table. Can't see myself without a .280.
Either bullet will serve you well. And either load in your 308 will work very well on game. I sure like the 280, having used the cartridge for years to harvest a good number of mule deer and whitetails.
