Target bullet for 6.5 CM?

@NYDAN,
Typo in my last post that I just fixed.
What it should have said to begin with..."This is NOT about outclassing anyone or any gun."
I didn't have the word "not" in the original one. I have corrected that.

I don’t know about that , you make those handgun shots look so easy. A 2 minute plate at 600 yds with my Striker is my limits.
I am not trying to say, I am a terrible shooter.
I am saying, I am not at the level of The Best Competitors...And I never have been!
I know what it takes to be at that level, and I don't want to spend that kind of time, travel, and money to be at that level.
Even if, I was at that level in one discipline, I wouldn't not be at the same level in a different shooting discipline.
It is not that important to me.
There are many things that are more important to me.
I get asked every year, "Are you coming to SWN's (South West Nationals)" or "are you coming to Nationals?"
These are F-Class comps that I am referring to.

@RL338
Sometimes the gun you are shooting is making life more difficult for you.
For instance, Striker's typically have sucky triggers...That makes it more difficult to shoot tight.
I am a trigger snob...I admit it.
For bench work a lighter trigger is an advantage.
Anything over 1.5 pounds is not something I want for bench work.
I prefer sub 1 pound triggers for Bench Shooting.

Mark, thank you for your thoughts. Yes, I have a .263" expander. I just ran it through the remaining 14 new cases that I have. I will try the same load as the last one above the .263" expander.

I have H-4350 but I have been saving it for once I have fired 50 of the new cases. I have a lot more of RL-16 so I have been using that to fire the new cases. So far, I have mostly been trying to get a feel for charge weight vs velocity and bullet jumps. Both the 129 gr. ABLR and the 120 gr. BT seem to like about a 0.030" to 0.035" bullet jump.

I found that the Lapua brass has much less case volume (and greater case weight) than the Hornady brass from factory loads.

I have loaded some cartridges faster, but the accuracy was less. But, I am still very early in this project.
Try in .3 increments with 3 shot groups. It helps find your nodes. I like it in small increments as in .3 because I have missed a node here or there using larger increments. I dug out my old notes and found an older post / test using H4350 and Bergers @ .090" off the lands to fit the magazine. Those Hybrid OAL are so long if seated close to the lands and won't fit my mag. https://forum.nosler.com/threads/little-range-time-with-6-5-creed.46757/#post-510878

Found an old picture using H4350 / 120 Ballistic Tips @ 100 / 3 shots. It was a test group. Love that load, used it on a whitetail hunt and a red stag as well. I would use this little BT as my target bullet any day.

Feel free to PM me if needing any help, etc. I would be glad to help.

Ernie, it is funny, but since I know your intentions are to help me when I read your original post, my mind read it with the "NOT" included. I really thought you wrote "this is NOT about outclassing".

I do truly appreciate everyone's comments and insights. There are so many people on the forum who have more experience, knowledge, and skill than I do. It is a constant learning process for me.

Good.
Keep us in the loop as you continue to shoot.
I plan to do some shooting with Glenn tomorrow afternoon.
I also need to switch out a trigger, and see what scope that is on my rear-grip 223 Remington specialty pistol.
It is one of my loaner pistols for WY-SHOT as well.

130 rdf work pretty good. I have 3 different guns be that shot them well with the same load. They were with aa4350. The 2 electronic groups are in millimeters so 16 (.63”)and 21.8(.86”). The good groups were younger guys and the .86 was me. Getting old and already fat so my heartbeat will move stuff. Good load though. The chrono data is from a bergara b-14. I forget but I thinks it’s a 24 inch barrel. The two others were an a-bolt and a Daniel defense.

There are some great targets/loads being posted on this thread. Congratulations to all the shooters.

Funny thing was that was kinda a guess. Thought the loads nosler listed were too short and wanted a load less than max off of the Hodgdon site plugged it into quick load and looked ok so I loaded them thinking I’d go back and add more powder later. Saw the groups and I said it shoots better than I can so I was happy and left it at that. Probably play around sometime in the future but I have had some mobility issues so I haven’t done anything for a while now. Hopefully it will be much better in a couple of months. Hopefully everyone has good luck in their quest for a decently cheap accurate plinking round.

Going only out to 200 123-130's are good. Since Sierra discontinued my favorite 264wm bullet (85gr) i had to move to Speer 90's. Those 85's were fun to shoot p-dogs with! Bullets, primers and powders and combination of as you know can change between barrels of what works and not. Maybe try Lapua 108's. I need to do some reloading for my Grendel.
