I see that with Superperformance I can get more than 3300 fps out of my 260 Remington. Wanting a flat shooting load for my Grandson but this bullet is pretty light for caliber and would like to know if anyone has tried this one of Whitetails, bigger variety. And what might the minimum velocity for expansion be? I also am thinking about using the 150 gr. Nosler Partiton in my 300 Ham'r and would also like to know what the minimum expansion velocity for that bullet is.

I have two (sorta), both with Ballistic Tips. One was many moons ago and I shot them out of a Tikka 6.5x55. I killed a buck at about 230 yds. It went in behind the right shoulder, hit a rib, and deflected upward taking out a chunk of spine. He made one last leap off a steep creek bank. I recovered the deer with the help of the landowner's son, a UTV, and a tow strap.
The second was using a 260 and some ammo I loaded for my boss's daughter. She was about the size of a number 2 pencil so I didn't want a load that would thump her excessively. She shot a button buck on her first hunt at about 75 yds. He was quartering away, and she hit him behind the right shoulder. It exited on the left side of his neck, leaving a wound the size of a golf ball. He fell straight down and that was that.
Neither load was anywhere close to 3000 FPS and based on my experiences and opinion, I would use a stouter bullet if you're gonna push that speed (unless you're shooting varmints). Hope this helps.

Not a 260 but did load the 100gr BT in my 6.5x55 for a grandson to use when he was younger. Didn't want him to get thumbed so I used a starting load of H4895 37grs FC 210 primer and 45grs H4350 FC 210 primer. Don't have the velocity but recoil was slight and the hole in the doe shot at about 40 yards was the size of a coffee cup. No tracking required but the next year I had him using the 120gr BT 48.5 grs Rl19. Wacked a buck about 140 yards top of the shoulder passed thru exit was about 50 cent piece. Much better and grandson never knew the difference.

I'd go with the 100 gr PT or a 120 gr BT.

I have had excellent results with the Nosler 125 gr 6.5 Partition in my 6.5-06 handgun on antelope and deer. Velocities should be similar to the 260 in a rifle.

Don't recall the Partition velocity for guaranteed expansion off the top of my mind...but want to say it is in the 1900 fps range.
You didn't specify your barrel length. 22"?
Nosler's data is for a 24" barrel, and shows that you can get 3300+fps with Big Game, W760 and H414 with the 100 gr Partition.
With a BC of 0.326 you should be good for reliable expansion out to 500 where it would still retain 1963 fps. Retained energy has dropped to 856 ft. lbs. The recommended energy for deer sized game is 1000 ft. lbs, which means that you should limit the range to 400 yards, where it will still have 1074 ft. lbs of energy.
With a SD of 0.205, the penetration may be a little less than desired at that range (0.250+ being the recommendation for reliable penetration big game), so if possible, it would better to limit the range even more for your grandson, to ensure reliable penetration of that light bullet on game, especially if that bullet isn't as well placed as desired, or hits heavier shoulder bone at the elbow.
Of course, the deer vary considerably in size across the species and geographic regions of North America. Here in northern Canada, our whitetails and mulies can exceed 400 lbs on the hoof, while there are many deer species in the lower 48 that don't get much over 100 lbs. It will depend on the deer you and your grandson are hunting. And his proficiency and skill in hunting and shooting, from field positions.

I think you would be right on with that, like Blkram stated keep above the 1800-1900fps
