I have an old Lyman manual and the 35 Remington is not listed in the Contender section. It is listed in the rifle section. If the OP wants that I can take a picture and post it later.I can't remember for sure but either RCBS or Lyman had a single shot pistol section in one of their reloading manuals and you might be able to find some loads there.
Thanks Truck Driver; no 35 Rem listed in pistol section of Lyman 50th edition...looks like the RCBS app is just info videos and equipment details...no load data. I'll keep looking specifically for Nosler bullet info as mentioned. It's hard to find "old" bullet load info...have an old contender reloading book (reprint) coming.I can't remember for sure but either RCBS or Lyman had a single shot pistol section in one of their reloading manuals and you might be able to find some loads there.
Thanks GregoryB; Hodgdon has some load data, but not for any Nosler bullets that I asked about and the other few they mention there are hard to find. I wish I could find some 180 grain bullets for this 35 that are actually .358! Have some 200 grain Hornady RN's coming and have some FTX's, but I always look for Nosler bonded bullets for anything I'm reloading and like to load data for a few options.Go to Hogdon’s website and look at their reloading data. Choose pistol then 35 Remington and it will give you several bullet weights and powder options. I just went there and checked it.
SJB358, I could get some 200 AB's on trade if I had load data...willing to try. I have 200 FTX's...care to share which Hodgdon load you went with on those bullets and what velocity you expect from your FTX load...you have 14" barrel? Those FTX's require 1600 to 1800 at impact to open, so not a lot of room if any for a contender pistol load. If I can get those to perform on a deer at 75 yards or a little less, I think I'd call it done. Can't find anything available in 180's except all coppers...and they typically need closer to 1800 at impact velocity. Like your Model 70 sign-off...have a couple myself.I use H data for my TC 35 Rem. Not really any good Nosler bullets in my opinion for the 35 Remington. The 200 AB might’ve been good but those are pretty hard to come by. I’ve been using 180 Speer FNs and Hornady 200 FTXs in mine.
