Upland game opener

This weekend is the opener for upland game in Oregon. We weren’t 100 yards from the truck when we jumped these elk.

Well that’s where they headed but for our area they were about as low as they could be.

Ha, classic opener - go out for birds and run into elk right off the bat. Did you end up finding any quail or pheasants after that surprise, or was it just an elk day?

We always manage to find a few but I don’t recall it being a banner day.

I mis upland hunting. When my GSP passed, I stopped going for the most part. I go with my cousin and his dogs from time to time, but nothing like before. We upland hunt in October out here.
