Just trying to wrap my head around this. 2 primer , 4 powders and 5 bullets all with the same results. Back when I started with my Muzzeloader I thru charges by volume and never saw that much spread.

Yes sir. I can usually whip a gun's ass more or less when it comes to loads, but this one's got me stumped. The only thing I can think about is combustion. We will see. Like I said I have some Factory loads coming and we'll see how those Express themselves

I think I'd try 10 rounds each of both the hottest AND the mildest primers I could get my hands on, all in the same outing. You might at least discover the remedy for the velocity spreads. If that yields no result with which to move forward, I think I'd be looking at that firing pin and its spring.
If I was desperate enough, I might wag some loading equipment out to the range to find out if it's all related to just a handful of individual pieces of brass.

I don't think a magnum primer is going to help any or fix that, just my thoughts. There's absolutely zero need for a mag primer burning less than 40g of powder. Typically you want the mildest primer that provides adequate ignition for the best results. A mag primer in a case burning 35-38g of powder is way to much primer. Not sure what the issue could be, head scratcher for sure...

The Magnum primers did nothing for uniformity. I called Weatherby about it and they wanted to take a look at it make sure that everything is up to par. They sent me a shipping label the same day and they will have it Monday.

I'll be watching this thread closely. I'm interested to see how Weatherby fixes/handles this and to see what it takes to stump FOTIS in load development.

My hand loads were a little better but not acceptable. Again standard of deviation was over 50. Never seen a rifle not being able to shoot a small standard of deviation no matter what you changed in the load.

That's disappointing, especially for the notice of the rifle. I'm sure a new barrel will tighten up your groups.
