If you were to choose between the ATACR and the Razor, comparing them both in mirage, bad conditions, best clarity and tracking, which would you pick ?

The Razor has better glass and a bigger eyebox on max power according to most who've done side by side tests. Both are top tier scopes with great tracking and durabity.
You can also get the Razor for like $2500, or a nice used one for $2K. That makes it a no brainer in my opinion. I don't think you'd be disappointed with one.

Don't forget , Vortex has a very nice promotion for MIL , LEO's , FIRST RESPONDERS . heck I "THINK" it's like 50 % or 60% off , if you qualify , that's a heck of a savings .
I do have a couple of the 5.5-22x50 NXS , and it works great . I "THINK " the 56mm OBJ is for light gathering at higher magnification , on these scopes that have max power in the 30's or more . I agree though , you have to mount them high , making an adjustable cheek piece necessary

Yes, F Open, I haven't got the scope or rings mounted on it yet. It came in yesterday, it was smashed lengthwise, the scope was to one side and upside down, out of the foam, sunshade was on the other side of the box, inside of the NF box was torn up, and I emailed EuroOptics with pictures and advised them that I am reluctant to keep the ATACR after what I saw, even the eyepiece of the scope made indentations on the inside of the box. They did not put any bubblewrap or cushions between the NF box and the shipping box. And yes, NightForce ATAR scopes are built like a tank, but for a 3k scope, I would send it back and I did. Once I shipped it off via UPS this morning with their shipping label paid for, emailed a copy of the receipt of the damaged shipment back to Euro Optics and immediately they packaged a new ATACR 7-35 and sent me a confirmation by email that the new scope was shipped out a few hours ago my way and that it was packaged with cushions this time. It should arrive tomorrow. Just got a confirmation to my phone that its on its way. Never had a package shipped in one day, yet needs to be seen. Great service from Euro optics once again.

I got my 6 screw 34mm Nightforce rings the other day, leveled the 6 BRA rifle and installed the rings and 7-35 ATACR. Full sized 30 pieces of 6 BR Lapua virgin brass to fireform, loaded all 30 pieces with 28.5 grains of Varget, CCI450 primers, and 3 different bullets. Ten pieces of 107 Sierra MK, ten of 103 Vapor Trails, and 10 of 105 Berger Hybrids. All rounds jammed .010" into the lands. Of course I had to measure ogive to lands for each brand of bullets and adjust seating die accordingly. There was a storm coming, so I rushed to the range hoping to spare an hour or two before the rain hits. Set up the Xero, and the NEO-X, aimed at a white target at 50 yards, and shot was high and little right, extraction was soft and smooth, then adjusted elevation and windage, 2nd shot was close. Set up the rifle for 100 yards, and reticles was out of focus, so I tried to loosen the eyepiece lock ring, darn it, it was so tight, and i tried 4 more times with no avail. It felt like it was glued to the eyepiece and gave up trying to focus it until I got home. So I aimed 8 rounds of the 107 SMK at the blurry 100 yard target, first two are high, and 6 rounds right under it and all clustered in a ragged hole, measured .600" outside to outside, the cleaned the rifle with Bore Tech, just a few patches, no scrubbing. Next was 2 shots with Vapor Trails to settle, both shots touching, and 3rd target was 7 shots with Vapor Trails, in a ragged hole as well, measured .450" outside to outside, and had one round left before I felt rain. So I stopped shooting and packed up. I still have 10 Hybrids rounds to try later.
When I got home, I tried again to loosen that darn eyepiece lock ring, but it would not budge. I refrained to proceed any further, gave Euro Optics a call for the 3rd time concerning issues with the eyepiece. They sent me a shipping label yesterday morning, I packed up the scope and shipped it back to them for the 2nd time. Once shipped via UPS, I emailed the scanned receipt and they packaged a new one up and overnighted it and estimated time of arrival is 2 pm today roughly. One day shipping, not bad and great customer service as usual. Hopefully that lock ring is easier to unlock this time.
