Anybody out there shooting the new T/C Icon in 308 win and does anyone know what the twist rate of the barrel is? If so I was wondering what loads you are using and what seating depth used. I have had several Remington 308 rifles that liked the same loads( 44gr Varget,150 BalTip,CCI 250 primers)...
I have used this scope out west on antelope with excellent results using the 270 and 30-06. I have only shot with it out to 700yds and it will put the bullet very close to whichever circle you are using. It is OK during low light but there is alot of distraction in the scope if trying to use it...
Powerstroke, Thanks fo the reply. I did try different primers with not so good results. Tried WLR, WLRM, and CCIM with the CCIM giving the best groups. The only two loads that I have found that group well so far has been with IMR 4831 powder, CCIM primers and 120 TSX or 120 BT. I really did not...
I found that the faster burning powders such as Varget, W748, and even IMR 4350 did not work well in my Savage 7mm-08 gun. I worked with IMR 4831 and found two loads that worked very well. Win brass, CCI Mag primer, 120 BT(.020 off lands/grooves), 45gr IMR 4831 with no pressure problems. Also...
I have been using the 150 tsx in my 300 wsm with good results in accuracy and performance on medium sized game has been excellent. I have used several different brand of bullets over the years and have never seen a bullet more difficult to work with on load development. Seating depth seems to be...
Thanks for the replies. I have been testing various powders( Varget, W748, W760, IMR4350 and IMR 4320) with 120gr bal Tips and 120 triple shocks with not so good results. Best group with any of these powders was 1.25" @ 100yds. The best group has been with the IMR 4831, 120 Bal Tip, CCI Mag...
I have a 7mm-08 load worked up using 45gr of IMR 4831, 120gr Bal Tips and CCI Mag primers and was wondering if anyone had chronographed using this load. Barrell length is 22".
Sorry DUBYAM new to the post and not sure how to edit a message allready posted. Thanks POP for the edit. Can you guys let me know how to do an edit on an existing post? Thanks, MDP
My best load was 41gr IMR 4350, 95gr Bal Tip, and CCI Mag primers. Excelent groups for two different Remington model 700 guns.

Have had very good results using 100gr BT and 53gr IMR 4350 with cci Mag primers. Had one Savage that would shoot sub MOA with this load.A friend has a Remington Classic that will shoot 1 3/4" groups at 300 yds with the same load. Performance on average size deer has been excellent.
JD338,
The COL that I am currently working with is 2.498. This is measuring to the tip. I ran and empty case with 50gr VMAX in to chech where it would meet the lands/grooves. That overall measurement was 2.518. Shot today using 36,37,38gr of Varget with horrible results. Groups were around 2.5...
Thanks for the replies. I have been reloading for about fifteen years and have not run into very many rifles that I could not get to shoot well. This gun is consistently shooting the same groups with the combinations that I have tried. I will try some of your recommendations and see what...
I have a Remington Lv Sf in 22-250(22" TUBE,1:14 twist) and need load data. Getting an average 1 3/4" group @100yds with several different loads tried with little success in tightening the groups. Tried 50gr V-Max with Varget/ IMR 4350 and 55gr Sierra BTHP and Varget/ IMR 4350.Tried CCI Mag and...
