    New and Reloaded Nosler Brass

Scotty I only wish that I had this resource to draw from a few years ago when I blew up a very expensive rifle, three times. I'm lucky to still have two good eyes. Neck thickness in a very tight chamber. With that aside and I really don't want to and will not start beating on poor Steve to prove...

    New and Reloaded Nosler Brass

Steve do you not even own one reloading manual. I don't think any one of them don't have a cross sectioned and labeled drawing of a case. This is not rocket science but this is not one of those things that you should jump into half way through. I'm not trying to be rude or cruel here but man...

    New and Reloaded Nosler Brass

If your using a regular cartridge holder, MTMs were you have the cartridges pointing down. It's the edges of the hole that is rubbing on the cases. I'm pretty sure that's all it is. Seen it on mine all the time. Jim

    25-06?

My very first big bore I bought was a 300win back when I was 15, Not to poke to much fun here but 300 Wins are a far cry from big bores. 375 and up would qualify. The 300 Win Mag I bought when I was 19 is now the wife's. Every one to there own. Jim

    How Many Rounds ?

I guess this depends on how many tags you have. Taking off later today for a week. Antelope is on the menu. I'm taking an untried rifle as my primary so I'm also taking an other one. Just in case. Had twenty rounds loaded for both. Went down to the bench yesterday to double check sight ins...

    How Much Is Enough??

I think it is more important to just get out there and shoot. Either target practice or shooting gophers. Your teaching your body it shoot. If your body knows what it has to do you don't have to think, just do. I've talk to a few guides over the years and they'll tell you if the client has done...

    Reloading Guides

NO!! Lets hope that It never gets to a point where books go obsolete. It's great to go back to older manuals and make comparisons. Hard to have three or four windows open at the reloading bench to come up with ideas. I would rather sit and read a book or magazine than read off a monitor. I know...

    25-06?

My opinion is a simply one. Hit them, elk or moose with the biggest thing your comfortable shooting. For some reason I've have never shot 250s in my 358 STA. At first it was 240s then 225s. Either TB or NP. With another moose tag being drawn and an itch to try something new I went to a 300 grain...

    Partition question

Sometimes there is just no explanation for the amount of damage a bullet does. Case in point. A few years ago I hit a medium size mule deer buck just behind the shoulder. 175 yard range with a 240 gr Bearclaw. No heavy bones hit at all. Lost the whole front end of the deer. From the bullet hole...

300 Win Mag and 200gr AB

A couple of quick loads for 200gr bullets out of Noslers #3 manual. These are the listed MAX LOADS IMR 4350 68gr for 2950 IMR 4831 71gr for 2970 H 4831 70.5 for 2910 RL 22 72.5 for 2960 I've done a little playing with 200s in my Model 70 with both NPs and some Woodleighs. a load...

    25-06?

Sorry DrMike I should address your comment. From what I have been able to learn from hunters with a hell of a lot more knowledge than me, the deal ,with moose and I'd think almost as much with elk shot broad side is it just take a long time to fill them big lungs with blood. And the higher...

    25-06?

Songdog: We are probably closer to the same opinion than I first thought. But everyone one is entitled their opinion. Oh now that sounds rude and not what I'm trying to convey here. It is to bad that most of these sites are not, and maybe beretzs is correct, pissing contests and not learning...

    25-06?

This is exactly the kind of attitude that can get you in big trouble on elk... regardless of caliber choice. If you're taking "imperfect shots"... then you're bound to get "imperfect results". Starting a bullet in the paunch of a hard-quartering bull... just because you feel like you have...

    loads for 25-06

It's been a while since I've loaded for a 25-06 but out of a Remington Mnt. Rifle 22" barrel and a 700 BDL 24" barrel. I just went back to my notes and generally speaking the best loads came from IMR 4831 but the most accurate ones a little slower though were from IMR 4350. Hope this helps a bit.

    25-06?

I know of only one guy that should be using a 25-06 on elk. There are others, no doubt. It takes a lot to watch an animal of your dreams just walk away because you don't have the perfect shot. I don't have that amount of time to spend hunting, yet. And to tell the truth there are just to many...

    Fire formed some brass.

I used some nickel plated brass for some 25 Gibbs rounds a few years ago. I never noticed it flaking off. I didn't have it very long though.

    Update E-tips willn't group

Elkman I've used TB for quite a few years and as a whole I like what I've seen them do. They have change since I ordered my first ones from Jack Carter. Not a lot but they have changed. Since you've been using Partitions for quite a few years now have you seen a difference in them. I do like...

    Update E-tips willn't group

Scotty I think part of the problem is very few of us see what happen time and time again with any given bullets and we just base our opinions on a couple of dead animals. I have the wife's 300 Win Mag loaded up with 165gr Sciroccos and after a antelope hunt here in a couple of weeks my 6.5...

    Update E-tips willn't group

baltz526 Did you get expansion. First year I killed a mule doe with the 180s. Not impressed. I thought the name bullets very exploding. Not the case of course. Shot at one doe and zero impression. the bunch ran around and I shot an other. Had a couple of doe tags and I was sure the first one...
