Well i couldnt help but going out and buying anouther can of IMR 7828 and my guess is that someone messed with the powder..... i loaded a few 80grn and a few 84grn and shot them a half hour ago and got normal velocities being 84grn = 3200ft/sec on a 3 shot average. and 2995 on the 80grn...
I didnt think that a case lenght increase of .004" (before re-sizing) wasnt too bad..??? All the material Ive read says that you may trim a case up to 4 times and up to .060" Is what im reading wrong?? please let me know, thanks
my nosler brass came from the factory at 2.810" well away...
And the cases check out ok, so far, they only grew .004" after being fired and the head space checks out ok..... I do have to say I do like this new Nosler brass......
Thanks guys, i thought it was a little fast. The nosler reloading book shows a max of 84.5 grn for IMR 7828......... And there was anouther guy at t5he range with anouther chroney that i shot through and it was the same just under 3500........ and both chronies were about 20' away from the...
I am also wondering what is average range in ft/sec for a 5 shot group??? Between 5 shots there was 7 ft/sec difference...... is this high or low??? thanks again guys
Thanks for the link but I am unable to download those things on this computer.......... Im not looking for exact #s im just wondering cause this is the first time i have used a chrony and it was -12C out when I was shooting. Im just wondering if my ft/sec will be faster or slower when it gets...
I just bought some redding dies and went with the bushing style full length re-sizer die. And love it!! you only need to buy 3-4 bushings but you could make do with 2. If its just a hunting riffle you find out what bushing you need put it in and leave it. No messing around.... unless you want...
I should also ask is there a good way to store them to prevent this?? I was thinking maybe getting a couple of the aborber packs you get in with new shoes and put them in the case........????
Just wondering if there is a good way to clean loaded brass?? I just finished loading some brass last week and now today I see that the cases are starting to show signs of corrosion..... I think its too humid in my place. So is there a way to clean them of do I wait till after I shoot them???
thanks guys. I just thought that a .5grn difference in powder charge makes a big difference why shouldnt a .5grn difference in bullet weight not be the same.... But good to know that I can reload all these up and not worry about it.
Well thats good, I went through a 100 bullets and only 0ne was 180.1 and only three were 179.7 the rest were all 180-179.8
And the powder?? same sh%@ different pile (container)?? And im not sure if this has been brought up at all...... does powder get old??
I just started to reload some accubond today and put a couple of them on the scale and found that they varried any where from 180.1 to 179.7 Should I be sorting them so there all the same weight??
Also Does anyone know if there is a difference in the IMR powder in the metal cans vs the...
Im just wondering how accurate your results are?? it doesnt make sence that the bullet is loosing more weight at a 100yds then 50..... or at 300yds there is less then all the rest... Are your #s mixed up??
Well I would say go to the bullet section on the Nosler main page and read up on the two. I think a better question is whats a better bullet between the accubond and the "silvertip"??? they are both beefed up versions of the balistic tip............
