I find the Nosler Dara typically about 100 fps. faster than what I get.

I get really great results with imr 4350 and 130 grain accubonds. During the last political crisis that's all I had and it turned out to be great.

200 grain Accubond with I believe 77g of H1000 is 3/4 MOA for me. it is a bit hard on deer but dynamite on elk. I get about 2850 fps. with a 24 inch barrel.

I have been busy for a while, but thanks for all the input. The load was worked up with 97g of retumbo yielding nearly 3370fps and 1/2 moa out of a custom Montana gun. The elk never knew the data was from an old manual.

Mike that may be but, 4 grains seems to be a large amount. The difference between 3/4 moa and 2 moa in real terms of shooting. I checked other loads with retumbo and nothing changed. It would reason that it would change for all if your hypothesis were true. it may just be a error earlier or now.

In Nosler reloading manual 6 in states that the max load for retumbo in a 300 rum is 99 grains for a 180 grain accubond, with 97 being the most accurate. In the latest version online from their website, it lists 95 grains as being max for 180 grain accubonds, with 93 grains being the most...

I could never get the 250 AB to shoot but the Berger 250 elite hunter shoots 1 hole with 91g of rl25 and 250g partition shoots 1/2 moa with 98.5g of retumbo and this is my go to load. big medicine for elk moose and bears.

Thanks for the reply’s I’ll tinker with it a bit. Any input on the 308 and RL15 is welcome. I may just be asking more than this setup can deliver. It is however fun to bang away with a 308 but a touch spendy Jon

Love the 270, 59g of 4831sc and a 130g Nosler BT or Partition is tough to beat. I get right around 3000 fps with this load. It good on anything except the big bears. Jon

I shoot the 130 AB, I use 45g of imr 4350. I don't get blazing speed but I get 2870 fps. I believe this a max load from the nosler manual. I am getting 1/2 moa and my daughter has taken 2 deer with it. She shot one at a bad angle not understanding that she was supposed to be trying to angle it...

I went with 100g ballistic tips and normal loads with h4350 and my daughter took a great buck at 12 years old. Not much recoil.

With a7-08 I would think 5-6 would be reasonable with reasonable loads. If you get loose primers toss them.
