Do the Ackly Improved cartridges generatle higher pressures?

Put another way, would a 30-06 and a 30-06 AI generate the same pressure with the same amount of powder in the case? Both the pressure and velocity would be lower in the 30/06 AI. However, the larger case capacity of the 30/06 AI allows you to use more powder to have the same peak pressure as...

    Barnes TSX FAILURES.

POP, If you read through various forum postings there seems to be wo things that trickle out. 1) Expansion failure is with the small calibre barnes Xs 2) The 375 and up Barnes Xs appear to work real well. I think the problem is that the small calibre Barnes Xs have a much smaller hollow...

300 weatherby mag or 7mm weatherby mag

Pop, I saw where you were doing some varmint blasting with the 416 Wby  I had a 416 Wby and 416 Rem not long after they came out but there not real good in Australia because of bullets. The problem is now worse because of the export licence requirements. Although a mate of mine just...

300 weatherby mag or 7mm weatherby mag

300 weatherby mag or 7mm weatherby mag

Savage99 You appear to have an abnormal degree of difficulty with belted cases. As far as I am aware D'Arcy Echol's personal choice of calibres is the 300 Wby and I think David Miller might be the same. I think virtually all Echols made rifles are in belted magnums. There must be something...

300 weatherby mag or 7mm weatherby mag

300 Wby is much heavier recoil than either the 270 or 7mm Rem. It is in the same class as the 375 but it has a much sharper muzzle blast. Overall I would regard the 300 Wby as more violent calibre to fire than the 375.
