I use H-4831 SC with nosler 90 BT's and get great accuracy! 43.5 grains with the 90's I would try 39.5 and 40 as a start with those 95's. This powder is very consistant as it is an extreme powder and I shoot in all and any temps. I don't get blazing speed they run 2940 FPS but are very accurate...
1shot wrote: It really don't matter what you shoot them with if you place the bullet through the front shoulders. They die in a short distance with a hole through both lungs about like a deer shot with an arrow.
The thing is that bullet must hold together through the shoulder, the Amax and VLDs...
I don't normally like to post negative thoughts but come on a few of you!!!! A pet rabbitt or a dog with a pliers on it ears? Both are big waste of time and could find you in trouble with the law and giving hunting yet another black eye! Why anyone would make such post is beyond me?
I have...
I use sterling mj600's the orignal coyote trap LOL. I also use modified #3 bridger offsets. Been through alot of traps down the years but these 2 I feel work the best for me. I use some dirt holes, and alot of walk thru type sets. Very few urine post sets due to high rabbitt and deer pops.
I...
Actually our coyote numbers are down by about 40% due to mange running through them the last 5 years hard, hoping to see after this winter a clearing up of this mange right now it runs 50% in alot of my area, but seeing less of the real bad off ones so hoping this winter with alot of cold and...
Hum? I haven't used any retumbo so can't comment on how accurate the program is with it, but the others POP has run for me are very, very close to what they say they will do. I to have a chrony model the beta and I have been surprised how close it is what POP prints. But I'm using different...
THE AB is a great long range hunting bullet and delivers well. I have killed antelope with them past 500 yards and they don't go more than 20 yards and I have killed large WT deer in the mid 400 range and they drop in there tracks no problems with them performing at least not the 110's from my 25-06
It will depend on the accuracy you want to achieve and the range of your shots. Most guns will like a load better than some others and you may have a few that give great accuracy.
I try to find a good bullet/powder combo that will fit the bill for that gun and what I want to use it for. I don't...
If I could ask on your cleaning procedure have you ever tried JB compund after you have gotten clean patches with you bore snake? If you where to runa few patches down with a rod I think you would be amazed at the carbon you would find!
The .308 is an old stand by, but the .260 is right there...
2.745 is my max in my magazine in my rem rifle as I tried to seat 95 bergers out as far as I could. I will try 2.730 and 2.735 with the E tips and 41.5 grains of H-4831SC, I like the temp variance better with the extreme powders over ball types and even some extruded IMR's, my SD is much better...
The tungeston thing has been done by Barnes already have never shot them becuase they make them in limited calibers, but cost would be an issue as tungeston isn't cheap and bullets would push the .80 each range quick!
110 grain E tip for 25 caliber for those that can't use the lead accu bond!!!!!!!! I still can but sadly I think our days with lead bullets are all numbered, 110 E tip would be a great addition and should have a good BC!!!!!
I have used H-4831sc with 90 grain Bal tips and they make dandy little groups! I get 2930 fps and I will try it with the E tip and see what kind of groups I get and FPS with the crono. Thanks
Thanks rich! Any one try h-4831sc? As I see nothing in the book for that? Pop I will look I think you ran me h-4831 sc for 90 bal tips? So mid load max will run the same relative FPS as max with a bal tip?
