Can I make 257 wby brass from 7 RM??

seems like alot of work to gain little over a 25-06 where brass is a plenty and your gaining so little? each to his own. I would look at finding a 25-06 and save alot of time and work myself.

How many of you measure all your loads?

I weight out everything on a redding scale, becuase I don't load normally 100's at a whack, I'm doing 50 at the most and only loading 2 calibers.

    243 95 grain BT?

Pop I use 90 gr bal tips in my .243 and H-4831sc makes some real small groups! I'm betting it would do the same for the 95's as well. I have a rem with 1-9 1/8 twist for some reason that twist loves 80's and 90's the best of the bal tips! Awsome groups at 200 yrds for what it is worth.

Nosler 300 Win brass sonsistency problems...

Well half a dozen to one and half to the other! I also know a guy that makes about a ton of ammo each year as they do sutom loading for customers, he checks run out and many other dimensions with high tech equipment to see for pressure signs and how brass holds up to all these loads they make...

    115g VLD"s at 400 yards

Same with me and CCI BR primers lost 90+ FPS over using winchester primers, they seem to be a colder primer as pop mentioned. Also my 110 accu bonds performed better with the less exspensive win primers versus the higher cost of CCI BR, guns are sure different.

    25-06 w/115g Berger VLD's

You may not need a accu bond for deer or goats but I sure do like them  . They drop them like stones! I shoot a fair amount of coyotes and have shot a few in that 500+ range and a Bal tip will do the job as well as many other bullets. I have went away from my 06 for coyotes and I have...

    25-06 w/115g Berger VLD's

I would try H-4831 SC and see what it will do? Not a big fan of the VLD's for hunting, myself I can get real good accuracy from the nosler 110 accu bond no need for any other bullet for hunting IMHO. I use either h-4350 or h 4831 SC still trying loads with the acu bonds and this powder. The...

Any idea when .243 brass will be back out again?

I have freind that ordered some nosler brass in .243 as that is what I use and I'm glad I still have 4 unopened boxes, he has been waiting awhile, when will Nosler .243 brass be back again to purchase? He may just stay with Lapua brass he ordered, I told him that is another top of the line .243...

    .243 Win Powder?

I myself wasn't that keen on 4350 powder in my .243, what I found for a good coyote load was as mentioned preveious 37.5 grain Varget, 80 Nosler bal tip, Nosler brass and WLR primer will shoot less than 1" at 200 yards 3100 FPS and does great on coyotes. The other load I really liked for...

    Impressed by this coyote round!

JD thanks for the insight I may just have to start loading for the 22-250 right now my agency buys our loads for us they are made at Hunting Shack in MT, very accurate except for the spread due to temps. We use a 52 grain A max bullet,PMC brass at 3,700 FPS is a darn good shooting load for sure...

    Impressed by this coyote round!

I have cronographed this load and it is 3090 FPS with a 26" barrel. It will shoot less than 1" groups at 200 yrds. I like the extra bullet weight for wind deflection and the pure stopping force on coyotes. I don't like runners when working livestock depredation. That rem 700 sps is one nice gun...

    Impressed by this coyote round!

I have been shooting my new .243 rem sps Varmint rifle and the load I worked up for accuracy is also very fur friendly on coyotes. I have shot them at multiple ranges and angles and get little fur damage even summer coated coyotes which I take out for my job! The load is 37.5 gr varget, WLR...

    ANTELOPE RIFLE ???

I think for cost of reloading and the ability to kill goats or deer at 500 yards it is tough to beat a 25-06. This is a very popular caliber among many antelope hunters in the west. The weatherby is nice but do you gain enough over a 25-06 for added cost of reloading or factory ammo? Not in my...

    25/06, 100 partition vs 110 accubond

Warden with the higher BC rating of the accu bond and only seeing 100 FPS differance my self I would stay with the accu bonds if they shoot well in your rifle and twist rate.

    243 win

65 v max in the hornady book 7 varget max 41.7 I would start at 36.5, h 4895 max 38.4, IMR 4064 max 41.2. I would try either the 70 grain or 80 grain Nosler B tips with varget I shoot 80 grain Bal tips with 37.5 varget in nosler brass with WLR primers and it shoots fine and dandy under 1" at...

    Accubonds and WhiteTails

I have shot coyotes, deer and antelope with 110 accu bonds in my 25-06 and they kill stuff dead. The problems some may have is a gut shot type situation and then unless your using a very thinned jacketed bullet your not going to do much. Keep those accu bonds in the front 3rd of any critter and...

    Velocity flucuations with compressed loads

I see that most times those with a lower SD no matter the speed have the best accuracy, but as others have said sometimes I can get an 8 FPS SD and other times it is 30 something SD. I like those extreme powders of hodgdon as I do see less SD more foten than not with those powders over others...

Who uses redding carbide sizing buttons in their dies?

well I talked with redding and said some brass might have necks on the thick side of sammi, which isn't a big deal except they will be harder going over the expander, he stated the carbide would make some differance for sure and give it a try. I ordered one an see what it's like. The reding guy...

Who uses redding carbide sizing buttons in their dies?

I'm thinking of adding the carbide sizing button to my neck dies for .243 and 25-06 dies. Those who have used them are they much smoother than standard expanders that come with redding dies? Thanks CT

    long range rangefinders

The leica is a nice unit and works for what I need it for sure! The thing is why would most need to range something at 1000+yrds unless your shooting a 20lb rifle or have it in a vice? The highest majority won't pull off those 1,000+ yard shots unless your real practiced and can read wind and...
