I have a leica 1200 the problem is the target at that distance needs to be in the right light and also you better be rock steady to get an accurate reading at that range. Round bales and buildings are tough but to range a deer or a coyote at 1200 you need to be very, very steady to be accurate, I...
I just glanced at a manual 6 at a sporting goods store and saw for .243 with 80 Bal Tip there I believe was a change? In Manual 5 it states max of 40 grains varget then manual 6 I thought showed max at 38 grains?
I could be wrong ,is max still 40 grains?
I don't have an AI just a reg 25-06 and with 110 accu bonds and winchester brass and WLR primers behind 37.5-38 grains of IMR 4350 I can get 3040 FPS and small groups, I shoot coyotes with this and they drop like a rock and last year deer hunting a shot a 4x4 WT deer around 180 lbs on the hoof...
I was wondering if this question could be answered? I hear all kinds of rumours so it must be tight lipped? I like it alot in the .243 and will use nothing but now! I'm just wondering if Nosler will ever answer this question? really makes no differance as again I like it alot and the quailty...
I fired the nosler brass and it is some nice stuff! I'm finding with my head space gauge it only grows .001-.002 on avergae after being fired and I'm finding only need to neck size with it! I'm buying 2 more boxes of the nosler brass, I'm wondering if I got some soft winchester brass? I also...
I looked at the burn rate charts provided on here and you look at Hodgon and they list varget much slower burn rate than does the reload bench? How can that be? Reload B has Varget faster than IMR 4064 and Hodgon has it much slower than IMR 4064? How can one have 2 differenr burn rates? It is...
Thanks I have all 3 minus RL19, I have some 4350 rounds loaded and ready to try as well, but what I have shot so far no real differance in groups between 38 grains of IMR 4895 and 38 of Varget with the 80, with a 1-9 1/8 twist I'm thinking my low bullet choice is the 80 and I don't mind that...
I have been trying loads in my new .243 Rem sps varmint and I'm finding very little differance between IMR 4895 and Varget powders, what choice would you make between the two? Is one better under varying temps? I will be shooting these loads on coyote control from spring through the summer. 80...
OK I'm thinking on head space issues, if we start with new brass neck sized or FL sized, I hear all new brass is under sized to fit in all guns, wouldn't that cause head space issues as well? We need to worry about over sizing in a FL die, do they make the brass even smaller than new brass? Or...
To my other post and .243 with neck sizing 2 times and that is it, I may have an oversized chamber, I took the plunge and dropped 40.00 on nosler brass, what can I expect to get from it that my 18.00 winchester brass doesn't do? I wil find out soon enough as I will range test this brass against...
OK I got my head space gauge, I put in the .400 for .243 cal I measured new brass it came out to 3.617 OAL, once fired or fire formed brass was 3.622-3.624 was the longest, I measured a neck sized brass and it came out at 3.619 or .002 over new brass not yet formed in the neck size die, so I...
Thanks guys I did just that and it solved the problem, the redding instructions made it sound like you didn't want to go lower than die touching shell holder, as you all stated it didn't take much and now they will chamber in the gun, I went just very little at a time until it would chamber the...
Ok I have a rem 243 SPS bought some new winchester brass I have always neck sized loaded and shot, after loading this 2 times this brass is becomming sticky on the bolt close, it will still close but sticky so I put it into my redding FL die did as requested and turned down until the bolt closes...
this is a dual gun for coyotes and my son to use deer hunting, 2900 FPS and bone I'm betting I wouldn't get the same performance with the bal tip as a bonded bullet. He is new to deer hunting and I want something that may help less than perfect shot placement for a good kill.
I like the swift...
I'm looking for a high BC deer bullet in .243 the best I have found is the swift scirocco II it has a BC of .419 and is what a accu bond is correct?
I don't suppose Nosler is thinking about a 90 grain accu bond anytime soon?
