Will post pics tonight...would be very interested to hear some opinions on them. I agree it is a mild load...I have gotten somewhere between 3000 and 3100 from factory Nosler AB 130's.
I shot those as foulers last time and got .75 MOA on a 3 shot group, so it tends to like those pretty well...
Understood - I would like to get the velocity up some...but this is my first time reloading (have done maybe 100 rounds so far) and my first load development, so right now I am just trying to read the results the right way and find the most accurate load in my gun.
After I get something...
I used 51, 52, 52.5, 53, 53.5, 54, and 54.5. I got primer flattening at 54 so didn't shoot but a couple of those. These were all .015 shorter than Browning mag length of 3.387, so COAL was 3.372.
51gr showed the most promise (.75 MOA for 6 shot group) so going back out with 50.7, 51, 51.3...
Thanks...I had been thinking 4831 would give better results but haven't had a chance to load some up...hopefully this weekend to load and shoot.
By the way, last I looked Cabela's had the 270 cal 150gr LRAB on sale for 20% off but not sure how long that sale lasts.
Will report back after I try...
I have H4831SC and H4350. I used 4350 from 50gr to 52gr and got flattened primers above 51gr and couldn't get any decent results...high ES on velocity. Hodgdon recommends a max of 49gr.
I am open to Hodgdon 4831 or 4350...actually open to anything, but would prefer to use powders I already...
Have found some on various forums, but wondering if Nosler has any official load info? I see that there is a load for the 210gr ABLR for 30-06 on the Nosler site, but curious why no 190gr is shown? Seems like that would be the ticket out of an '06 for long range....
I shoot lefty (right handed but left eye dominant), so my choices are limited, especially with Nosler. I would prefer a Nosler rifle, especially being in Oregon, but I need to balance that with selection as well.
Not sure if Nosler would build a 280 rem but I have emailed Shawn to find out...
So I understand you can shoot 280 rem in 280 AI, but not the other way around.
My question is this...if considering a 280 rem, is there any reason not to go 280 AI other than costs? In other words, dont you have the option to load AI if you want the xa punch, but if in a pinch, you just shoot...
What are the chances of getting an NCR in LH (series 2, 280 AI)? Or the Legacy? I am pretty sure I want a 280 AI but not sure what type...lefties don't have a lot of choices in general, and especially so with less than mainstream cartridges.
I have a stainless stalker in 270 that D. Holland...
