    Its Over.....

Congratulations on your hunt! I feel with you - I guess we would all like to go one after the tags are filled... One question: what kind of combination-gun is that? They have a long tradition over here, but I wasn't aware that there is much use in the US.

I will never buy "once fired brass" again!

Agreed. If I am sure they are one fired, I take them from the range. But seeing my old brass after wet-tumbling with steel pins, it takes more than a glancing look to make sure they are not old. That's why I won't BUY "once fired brass" anymore. Picking it up is a different story.

    US Capitol Under Siege

A comment from across the pond: You were always portrait to be the role model for democracy. Actually, since I have to rely on Press-Reports I do not have an opinion anymore. I just hope you manage to work things out and be/represent THE democracy again. From the outside it looks as if both...

    Yay, I won the debate

Happy wife, happy life... So happy I have a cool cellar all for myself. I gladly surrendered the "office" to her for painting and stuff. Ok. We have 8 rooms for two persons and my kids every second weekend. So that was an easy choice...

    Rookie's mistake

Currently, I have no idea. I am quite sure the press cammed over.so either die should have done ok on the neck. On the second run, everything was ok. So I think it remains a mystery and I will simply go on...

    Non-Traditional Henry 30-30

Geeees, I like the 30-30. But we must have more than 2000J@100 m for big game and the 30-30 das just a bit short there. Otherwise, I would never have sold my Marlin...

    Rookie's mistake

At first I thought I used the neck sizer instead of full length. But since the die cammed over, the neck should have been ok. They wouldn't have fit some guns, but still there shouldn't have been donuts at the neck. I quit thinking about it, did it right and now they should be ok. And yeah -...

    Rookie's mistake

Last week, I sized a bunch of 308 win brass. Cleaned them, trimmed and wanted to go on. Until I found what you see in the picture... Now I size them full length again and repeat the process....

    Salmonchaser goes to Africa

While I will probably never go to Africa with a rifle, but a Camara (I don't care about trophies, just meat), I love to read reports like this and accept and understand that others feel different. I loaded for quite a few people for their Namibia-Trips and was happy for them to have that...

I will never buy "once fired brass" again!

I use once fired brass if I can be sure it once fired. What I meant is: if you buy it from an unknown source and it was wet-tumpled, you have to look very closely to make sure it is not old stuff the seller wanted to dump and get money for it.

    130gr. TTSX in 308 Win.

I load the 130 gr TTSX for a friend in 308 win. Accuracy is top and so far he didn't complain about what they did on game I use Lovex D073.6. No idea if you have it on your side of the pond. But it delivers very good speed at reasonable pressure for multiple bullets. I am getting close or...

I will never buy "once fired brass" again!

About 1 1/2 years ago I bought a very cheap Chinese whet tumbler. Added some steel pins and went for it. I would bet some money that few people would be able to see the difference between almost new and thoroughly used brass after a treatment. They come out all shiny like new. This is just a...

What big game do you plan to hunt in 2022???

Our system is way different from yours. There is no such thing as getting a tag on public land. If they show up, I will hunt for roe, red stag and boar around the corner. Fallow deer with a friend. We don't have your equivalent for public land. It is all owned or leased.

    Early deer season

Thanks guys! Yeah, they are small but among the best meat I ever had. The bigger ones are slightly above 40 lbs here, which is still smaller than a fallow calf in September... A few days in the cooler and then the boys will come for the weekend. Guess I have to fire up the BBQ.

    Early deer season

Our season for roe deer and young red deer started first of April. I was out a few times and saw some roe. But we are only allowed to shot 1 year old bucks this year and until May 15th 1 year old does. I saw a few good bucks - but our three year limit for older bucks was reached last year. No...

    Looks like I goofed.

I was in South East Europe or where it meets Africa for vacation a few times. Standard phrase: I mak you the best price! We call it camel market over here. A German saying is: every day an idiot wakes up! Seeing those prices I am wondering if it is the one buying those guns, or us not selling...

    Side wind effect on drop

You can exclude the effect in the settings. I was wondering if there is such an effect to that degree. Like wing-effects if the bullet spins into the wind. I will check if wind from the other side has the same effect. Just did. It has makes a difference from which side the wind comes considering...

    Side wind effect on drop

Hi fellas, I guess the thread fits here... I played with Streloc Pro a bit and according to the app, for my rifle, zeroed at 100 m, the difference in drop would be four clicks (1/4 moa) @200 meters between no wind and 5m/s (~15 FPS) from a right angle. Is that realistic?

    Optimum Barrel Time

Amen to that. I am active on a few forums, American and German. But THIS is the only one where threads don't go south after a few posts. Thanks to the mods for keeping it that way! Cheers Frank (Germany)
