If you want a magnum, use a magnum. Personally, I no longer hunt elk with anyone who tells me I am over gunned with the 300 RUM.
Are magnums better? No, but a lot of guys really have this thing about proving that I can be done with a smaller caliber. Next time you think a 260,270 or...
That's good that there is lower Wolf counts down there. During archery season, we saw a lot of sign, more than I have ever seen and we encountered one very large male that did not appear to be worried about us...that made me very worried.
Guys, Looking for some help. I bought a bunch of bullets with the intent of reloading for the 7RUM. Well, that gun went down the road and all we have left is the Savage Edge and Weatherby Vanguard 7mm-08's. Have you ever done any loads with the stuff I have listed below? I know its a Hodge...
Thanks for the input guys.
I mounted a VX11 4 x 12 x 40 AO just to take a couple of shots.
Woof, this this is a lot louder than I expected. It has the recoil of a pellet gun.
I think I am gonna try a Burris as my cousin swears by them.
We thought it was my wife's savage edge in 7mm-08 so we upgraded the rifle. Got the same 4" groups at 100 yards with the new rifle. So, I cooked up some 140ab's with some IMR4350 and both rifles are now 1" off a tree rest.
So, yeah, in my opinion, Superformance = Supersucky.
Well, we loaded up a box of these using Berry's 115g 9mm round nose bullets. I followed the same load data that I use for Federal brass.
Other than cleaner guns, less recoil and tighter groups than the factory Blazer brass, I think I will will reload a few more hundred of them
Have any of you guys used this? I have 700-1000 rounds of 9mm that I am sitting on the fence about using. If you have used them, what case did you use as a reference for your powder charges?
Thanks,
WM
Given the choice, which brand of dies do you use for your rifle hunting loads? Why and are they rebuild-able? My only experience has been with Hornady and no other brands. My reloading is not a way saving money but rather a hobby to do when the snow is flying. Not saying I am made of money...
Aside from the the fiber optics and tritium crosshairs, are these scopes worth the money? Cabelas has the TRG23-2G on sale for a little over $850.
Please give me the good, the bad and the ugly.
Thanks
