Well, I went online and bought my elk and wolf tag this morning from the Idaho Fish and Game. Makes it pretty final. I figure I will grab a deer tag once I get there. Just wanted to secure my elk tag in case something freaky happened. Should be an awesome year though.

Lots of elk reported in the area and lower wolf numbers in our area. Be nice to put the zap on an elk with my old (new to me) 338 Win Mag..

Go get 'em, Scotty. It always feels better once the tags are in the wallet.

I would like to. That would be good with me. Have to ask my hunting partner.

That's good that there is lower Wolf counts down there. During archery season, we saw a lot of sign, more than I have ever seen and we encountered one very large male that did not appear to be worried about us...that made me very worried.

Fair enough..how about Nebraska Black Angus ribeye's, red taters, and home brewed beer?

Wow, now that sounds like alot better than Trail Mix and Granola bars.. I think we might have to make it a planned stop Mike.

Agreed, once the tags are in hand it validates everything you've been planning. Hopefully you'll soon be deciding which bull is the shooter and whether or not you'll have another home brew.

Good Luck on the elk and wolf.
I'll be down by Stanley and Challis and then I'll be heading up past Mc Call for white tail if I don't get Mule deer. A fire has burned half my elk hunting area so it may be a quick, futile hunt. When are you going up?
