    Nosler Techs: finicky M70 30-06

Accuracy update: chasing the lands has been the secret. I am now shooting all bullet combinations 3 thou off the lands. The rifle has turned into a solid MOA (usually less) shooter.

    Nosler Techs: finicky M70 30-06

Crown is good. Will try front barrel pressure but from my own experience, I have yet to own a rifle that shoots more consistent with barrel pressure rather than free floated. To bring this question home, I would like to know if the Nosler Techs would recommend, for example, a flat based...

    Nosler Techs: finicky M70 30-06

I recently purchased a featherweight M70 classic in 30-06. It is the first '06 I've run into that won't shoot 56-57 grs. H4350 and a 180 gr. Ballistic Tip or Accubond. What powder, primer and bullet combo do you recommend I use to see the potential accuracy of this rifle? Thanks.

Need some .30-06 with 180 gr Accubond loads

In my Tikka '06, 57.0 grs. H4350, IMI brass neck sized, CCI 200 and a 180 gr. Accubond has given me multiple 1/2" MOA groups at 100 and 2.5" groups at 300 (no pressure signs)....not I once shot a .480" group etc. I have not chronied this recipe but with a 200 yd. zero, it drops an honest 7.5"...

Load info for 30-06 180-gr. AccuBonds

147G: My five shot group averaged 2635 fps. I fired these rounds in a shooting tunnel equipped with a state-of-the-art computer/chrony system. My '06 has a 22" barrel.

Load info for 30-06 180-gr. AccuBonds

Steve - Is Ramshot Hunter anything like Win 760? I went through a lb. of 760 recently and accuracy was so-so with a variety of bullets and charge weights.

Load info for 30-06 180-gr. AccuBonds

I'll second Nosler2's recommendation of IMR4350. I've tried a number of powders listed in the #5 manual for 180 gr. bullets and 55.0 grs. 4350 and a 180 gr. Accubond gives me the best and most consistent sub MOA accuracy in my '06.

What Kind Of Accuracy Are You Getting With Partitions?

Nosler - I'd like to hear your input on how to get the Partitions to shoot much better. The best I can do with 180 gr. NP's is .700" CTC in my '06. Granted, that is - as you said - good-to-go hunting accuracy. However, I prefer to shoot bug holes at the bench  I can do so with...

So my father-in-law stops by with a box of bullets and...

100 once fired .308 Winny Factory brass (from Winny 168 gr. BT match ammo) and tells me to load up more match ammo. He was kind enough to supply the dies  The bullets are 168 gr. Nosler Custom Competitions. What powder/primer combo should I buy to "replicate" his match ammo expectation?

How do you choose your powders?

"I wish we could put every powder in our manual, but the book would then retail for around 49.00. I don't know about you but $24.95 is much better" For a complete manual as such (with load data to SAMMI spec), I would most certainly pay $49. There is no manual like that currently available...

    POWDER SELECTION

Perhaps you folks should consider doing what our friends at Hodgdon have done: create "annual" manuals emphasizing the powder choice requests not currently listed in your hard back manual.

    detailed dimensions of Nosler bullets?

If anyone has a dial caliper, a 180 gr. NP and Accubond handy, please measure the OAL of these bullets and post the results. Thanks Alan
