Very cool !
Is that an all factory rifle ? Long chamber !!!!!
My COAL for vanguard s2 is 3.343 " with a 165gr BT.
Ogive touching !
I guess I have a short / normal chamber dimension.
I've been trying to figure that out
Too cool , out of curiosity, does this put you 2 or 3 thou off the lands ?
I'm at 3.343 COAL when ogive is touching the rifling for my vanguard s2. and 165 gr BT.
Thank you Dr Mike , yeah Speers manual # 14 is where I read about mags and starting loads for ball powder.
Rem. uses klean bore primers for their scirocco line and ball powder , but I no nothing about klean bore.
The question does come up about factory ammo with ball powders and mag primers...
From what I have read , ball powders need mag primers for a starting load ,so what about WLR primers that Nosler calls for ?
Are WLRs suitable for cold weather ignition ?
Thanks Guy , I enjoy looking at the results from these reloading manuals.
I've been reading over old posts and thought maybe someone might have the recipe on paper that I will attempt.
Thanks, Ray
Apologies, I should have been clearer.
I was checking my trim tool to see what depth it cuts to.
I'm gonna be using new Nosler brass , I'm basically getting to know my equipment with cheap brass.
I understand about trimming and hot loads now , thanks.
I would like to know a little more...
Thanks guys, I will be FL sizing, I'm using the Neck sizer for deformed case mouths.
In my mind ,by sizing the whole neck, I was thinking in terms of seating a bullet a calibers depth and that would mean to me having that much tension. So that's why I'm trying to understand.
Please...
I know 3006 should be trimmed to 2.484 , I have the Lyman trimmer that chucks in a drill but it cuts down .007" shorter.
is this a concern ?
When neck sizing , how do you know if you are sizing the whole neck ?
Hey fellas' , I built my desk from 3 doors and gave this press a little work out on my once fired Rems.
I think I got the shoulder position set to the once fired position.
I followed rcbs instructions and it set the shoulder 2 or 3/1000 back .
I turn the die up until it matched the once...
