but I did come up with the idea of necking down a 264 case to 6mm, put a 28" stainless pacnor with a 8 twist and have it shoot the 87g vmax-105g amax. I know it would be overbore, but it shouldn't be to much more overbore then say a 6-06 AI...Would be a helluva LR yote round I would think...
they can always make things look good on paper.
This is why I quit buying gun magizines 35 years ago.
But we all know better now.
In time the truth always comes out.
I'll stick to my 264 26" barrel and reloader 22
and my NOSLER BULLETS
Jim
I hate to spoil your dream but the 6.5 rem mag needs a 26" barrel too I have 2 of them
and it runs right beside the 264.
For volocity it beats the 6.5x284 and the 6.5-06.
I THANK YOU A BUNCH
I just noticed the case capacity i measured last night is 52.2 grs of water
my 49.0 gr load blowed the primer
my 48.0 grain load was very accurate but showed a little sign of high pressure
protrusion in pin hole
so I backed off to 47 grains and every thing looks ok and is...
the 6.5 rem mag is from Savage called the tiger shark it was $200.00
The one on the 7 mag is from Boyds called the ross thumbhole this stock weighs 2 1/2 pounds
they are dropin fit I did nothing to it but bolt my rifle in it this one was $79.00
now they are $99.00.

I have a short long and mag Savage actions and 12 different caliber barrels
I can change too. It's sure a lot cheaper to buy barrels than 12 different guns.
and a lot of my barrels are $50.00 new take offs.
and I have 8 barrels for remington that I am threading for a barrel nut on them too.
so...
I don't know what you all think but I like the looks of my Savages.
My Savage 7 mag
my Savage 6.5 rem mag can change to my 300 wsm barrel or my 270 wsm
I am now working on my 6mm-06 Ackley it is shooting about as good as the 22-243 is
with 58 grain ballistic tips.
Hard to beat Nosler-Savage & Varget
WHY IS MY TARGET GONE?????
I can't be more pleased with it.
Now that I know it shoots that good I'm going to send
the barrel to Arkansas to have it Nitraited so it won't ware out for many years.
for every one that just has to have the lapua brass, berger bullets, nightforce scopes
custom actions, custom barrels & custom triggers custom stocks.
here is what I got with a used Savage 110 action, a Adams&bennet barrel 22-250 rechambered to 22-243 Ackley, $56.00 BSA scope
6-24X40 and cheap...
i sent the link to myself in email and it worked
try again

any way the 87 grain with imr 4831 65.0 grains gives 3920 fps
Gene
look at the 87 grain load at 3920 fps
I shot this load for over 30 years in my rifle.

bsa makes a good scope.
with the $1600.00 I spent on the 2 leupolds I have
I feel like I really got screwed big time now.
and they are making scopes for over $2300.00 each now
How stupid can people get?
"you get what you pay for"
sure is a lie anymore.
