I had a Browning A-Bolt Composite Stalker in .243 WSSM. When I traded it away, I kept all the brass and cartridges that I'd loaded. If you're interested I still have the following and would be willing to sell or trade them:
77 pieces un-fired brass
42 loaded 70 grain Sierra Blitz Kings
15...
I have a promising load with the 200 Grain Accubond, 92.0 grains of RL 25 and Federal Match primers.
I'm also getting sub-MOA groups from 180 Grain Sierra SPBTs and 96.0 grains of H-1000 and Federal Match primers.
Still working on loads for the 180 grain Nosler PT and Barnes TTSX...both are...
I have the 3-9X40mm version on my .300 RUM, with the Accu-Range reticle. I haven't had any issues with it thus far. Redfield also has a lifetime warranty, so how could you go wrong?!?
"FULL LIFETIME WARRANTY

POP and Richracer 1:
What are you both using for an OAL on the 200 grain Accubond/ 95 grain Retumbo loads? Just picked up a box and am going to load some up tonight.
Thanks in advance.
Just applied for the following tags in Oregon yesterday:
1st Season Bull Elk (NE Oregon)
Mt. Goat (NE Oregon)
Big Horn Sheep (SE Oregon)
Antelope (SE Oregon)
Additional Deer (Willamette Valley)
Spring Bear (Coast Range)
Still trying to decide on where to apply for mule deer. I've been hunting...
3.625"
Also tried 90.0 grains and 92.0 grains of H-1000 with the TTSX. They shot 1.61" and 1.48" respectively. I may try playing with the OAL. Does Nosler publish that for their loaded ammunition?
Made it out into the mountains today to check my loads...definitely not the results I had hoped for, so it looks like I'll be trying some additional loads. Here are the results from the day:
180 Grain Nosler Partition
H-1000 94.0 grains - 1.89" Two touching with a third shot high.
Retumbo...
Finally had a chance to put together some loads...Will be trying out 5 different loads with H-1000, Retumbo and IMR 4350 tomorrow. Loaded some 180 grain Partitions and TTSX's. Will be re-checking an earlier load with 91.0 grains of H-1000 and the 180 TTSX, it was shooting 0.95"...
I don't have a link but the magazine was put out by Winchester for the U.S./Canada market. The entire magazine is Winchester based and goes over their new products, new packaging upgrades, and partnership with Nosler.
The ammunition is called POWER-CORE 95/5 and it's under the Super X brand...
Reading the new Winchester magazine which details all their new products for 2011 I came across an article on the new Power Core ammunition...they mention it's 95% Copper, 5% Zinc, just like the E-Tip, but without the CT coating, and polymer tip. Is this truly a version of the E-Tip and is...
It's been great so far...I really don't foresee there being any issues with it. Being made in Oregon, by Leupold says a lot. They wouldn't put out a bad product. I've only shot about twenty rounds through her though, so we'll see. The glass is pretty clear up to the edges, and the dials...
Ended up finally getting the TTSX's shipped in...headed out to the range this weekend and tested three different loads. Loaded the 180 grain TTSX over 90.0, 91.0 and 92.0 grains of H-1000. 91.0 grains ended up with a 0.95" group, while the other two loads shot right below 1.5". I was fairly...
Guy,
Great story and pictures. The history behind the rifle definitely makes it special. Looking forward to seeing the finished product and range reports. What's the barrel twist? Back in the 40's the twist would normally only stabilize the smaller grain bullets, and the Hornady 117 grain...
Regarding your question about the kick, I don't think it's bad at all. It feels a lot less than my .338 Winchester with 225 grain TSX's. The two guys that I know who also have .300 RUMs installed a break immediately though... I think it just comes down to what you're used to and what you're...
I thought about the scope as well...However, all the new Redfield's are made in Oregon, by Leupold, in the same factory as Leupold. I feel pretty good that it'll hold up just fine...if it doesn't, I'll resort to the lifetime warranty!
This line is just Leupold's way of competing in...
That says something coming from an Alaskan! My brother-in-law is shooting the 168 TSX as well. He's had great results with it. In the past my go to guns were both Browning A-Bolts in .30-06 and .338 Win Mag...The .300 RUM will definitely be fun to tinker with!
