I hunt in Goochland County 2-3 times a week, Bedford County where I grew up 4-5 times a season, and Bath County as often as I can, usually 4-5 times a season. I love deer hunting. Never get tired of sunrises and sunsets and all the critters that move at those times.

I have been using IMR 4320 mid range loads with 150 grain Partitions. Shoot nicely out a 28 inch Encore barrel. When I use the same load with a 20 barrel ruger rifle I recently bought, I get lots of flame coming out the barrel. Is there a faster burning powder anyone likes that works better...

I fillet the meat without gutting the deer. Carry the meat out in Bags in my back pack. The carcass is left for the ravens, coyotes, and bears.

I have two SSK built 300 whisper barrels that are Shillen Match grade barrels. I am very happy with both rifle and pistol length. Neighborhood deer not so much.
