2012 Brass Wishlist

Yeah, although I have at least 150 Winchester .358s, I wouldn't mind the Nosler option.

Scotty, do you have a 7x57, or just in the dreaming stage?

I just got a bag of Norma 300 WSM brass, but I do need to get some 44 mag and 444 Marlin brass.

Well, technically, it is in my safe, but it is my sons rifle. It is way too nice for me! Scotty

Scotty, those push feed model 70 Featherweights were the best guns Winchester ever made in my opinion, nice gun. If I wasn't a lefty I would have bought one. Great choice on the caliber too it can handle a lot of situations. Years ago my uncle killed a grizzly with his 7mm Mauser using regular factory loads, put a 175 gr Partition in there and it will be even better :)

Yeah, I have one other push feeder M70 and it has been an excellent rifle. It was my first big game rifle and shoots really well. It is due for an update on the stock and such, but I have no complaints with it at all. This 7mm Mauser is going to be my boys. Once I get it up and shooting, it will be his. I am looking forward to the load work with it, but it seems like just about the coolest rifle I could imagine for a young hunter. Very sweet round. Should be a good one. Scotty

Scotty,
Great choice, and it brings back great memories as my first centerfire rifle. 98 Mauser, Weaver K3, a bunch of 175 gr. round nose bullets, and the local fox farm paying 50 cents a piece for jackrabbits. Any skill I have shooting moving targets I owe to those experiences. I had about 6000 pieces of surplus '06 brass, and was making the 7x57 brass from that. Good learning experience but tedious, so it became a 7mm-06.

Nosler 7x57 brass would be high on my list too, and would tip the scales on my next rifle choice. It is about ideal for young shooters and ladies getting introduced to the sport.

All the x57's would be nice,,specially the 6.5x57

Have to agree there and would like to see the 6mm Remington in Nosler quality brass. Now that would be something! How about Nosler making a couple of their Trophy Grade loads in it as well. I think that 100 gr. Partition, 90 gr. E-tip, and 90 gr. "mythical" AccuBond would be great.

I know I sound like a broken record but did I mention 6mm Remington?

Nice rifle by the way too Scotty!! That is an awesome cartridge just like it's grandson is! You obviously know quality when you see it sir!

Yep, that would work!

7x57 brass is on my wish list. Been using Remington brass but would love to see some made by Nosler or Lapua.

No slamming of the remington brass. It works just fine with IMR 4350 and 150 gr Partitions shooting in my Ruger No. 1 RSI 7x57, I just like Lapua brass. Since I shoot only single shot rifles, a hundred pieces of Lapua Brass lasts me ,,,well, I haven't worn any out yet.

+1 on more of the Robert's brass. I am having trouble finding any of the old run.

Just a thought, all of the recent posters all want 7mm Mauser case variants!
